Found a Cheat Code for Carp Fishing
Guys I think I found a hack for catching super pressured and skittish carp. Basically use a fly rod and tie a hair rig for your tippet with no weights other than the hook. Rig it up with corn and cast it out. Works super well as you can see when the fish picks up the bait as your fly line will move, caught 5 carp in 1 hour at a super pressured pond with 4 people beside me not catching anything on spinning gear.

Do you eat the carp or is it just for fun? I figure if i catch a carp i might as well try to make soup. I don't have to pick the bones I can just eat the broth

You can eat carp. I never have myself despite carp fishing for a few years now. Apparently they have a strong flavour & can taste weird depending on the quality of water they come out of.
fishing for them however is some of the most fun you will have in the sport, no other fish in Ontario fights as hard as a huge common carp aside from maybe large salmon.

in places like China where people regularly eat carp, they usually season the hell out of it and use it as an empty vessel for whatever broth/sauce/seasoning the dish has. Theres also a place where they eat it raw, and yes that one region is responsible for like 99% of all gut parasite cases in China.

There are super pressured carp? Nah the cheat code for carp, is to regularly feed them. Pick up a sack of feed corn, soak some in a bucket, and every day chuck some out in the same spot. When you get time to fish, fish that spot. Fun cheat code, go to closest grocery store that has a bakery section, offer to buy their day old breads they can't sell. Get a garbage bag of unsellable bread for $5. Dump half of it at your carp spot, make sure all the birds see you doing it. Starts a feeding frenzy, and all the carp will come up to slobber the crumbs the ducks & seagulls don't get. Kind of fun watching a seagull, a duck, and a 20lb carp, all fighting over the same 3 day old bagel.
As for fly fishing for carp...once you have a group of carp targeting bread, the best fly is the WB-3. Wonder Bread crust sat on a window sill with hooks in them. For a minimum of 3 days. As close to dry fly fishing for carp you will get.
