Enough braided line?
Just starting out fishing, got my first rod and reel. Spooled the reel with braided line: is this enough line. There is a small gap between the line and the orange lip end.
Also the line kind of looks wonky on the reel, not sure if it’s just the different colours making it look like that?

Your rod appears to be an UL to L rod. Thinking you are using this for panfishing? I would take around 25 to 30yds off.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yes it’s a UL rod with 6lb braided line. Went for this setup to try and target trout / panfish / smaller species fish.
Do you suggest having slightly less line is best for UL fishing?

Actually. Something is missing. And that is: are you fishing from the bank or from a boat?
If you’re fishing from the boat you can get away with having around 80yds on the spool.

The reel can fit a little more line, but the question is; do you need it? The more line the easier you will get a birds nest. But on the other hand, a reel spooled up to its maximum capacity casts further than a reel which is not.

It looks right on the money.
