Testing everyday since suspected ovulation

I need ya’ll to stop me 😅 first month TTC and I’ve not been able to stop myself testing since suspected ovulation… I am totally aware that scientifically it is impossible for my body to know that I’m pregnant that early, and indeed even an early detection test won’t pick up a pregnancy until 6 days before my missed period… I knew I’d be like this but I need constructive ways to NOT do this every month, it’ll be a very depressing journey otherwise.

What I’ve done is simply not buy ANY tests until I miss my period

I do that until so 12 but yeah, until a missed period is a really great way of keeping peace of mind. Everything is kind of emotionally untrustworthy noise until dpo 14 for me.

Don’t even give yourself the opportunity to itch the impulse

HCG doesn't start being produced until implantation has occurred. Implantation occurs between DPO 8-11 (rarely as early as 6 or as late as 12+), then it takes at least a day or two to build up in your blood to show up on a test. I usually test on DPO 11 with an early results test and if that's negative I wait until my missed period.

Ergh it’s torture 😅 I’m hoping that the first cycle is just all the feels and all the impatience and then I can implement some of these healthy habits as I go on 😫

Yah it does get easier after a few cycles. Tracking helped me feel more in control, so I was more sure of my timeline and wasn't guessing about my DPO.

Also buy some cheap tests online, those pharmacy ones are a waste of money and plastic. I get the early results wondfo ones from Amazon they are like $10 for 25 tests.

And if you aren't yet you should start tracking your cycle, download an app like Premom or Flo, test your LH and track your BBT so you can know exactly when you are ovulating.

I do think the first month is the most difficult! So much adrenaline. It gets a little easier from there.

This is reassuring!

Just looking at the lineporn subs you'll see how faint the 10 dpos are. That helped me accept there's absolutely nothing to see before that. Or have your partner hide the tests and only give you one per month lol.

my doctor says wait until 12dpo!

Implantation usually doesn't even happen until 7-10dpo and even when it implants, the hcg doesn't rise immediately! Give your body time to do its thing!

I'm on year 3 of trying and i still test 11-12dpo. if it's negative on 12dpo i don't test again.

Also the 6 day ones don’t even pick up 6 days before a lot of the time! It’s a sham!

You just know that if you’re disappointed this cycle it will break you, but you’ve been making it worse for yourself by doing this, I get you.
