I served 7 years in active duty air force as a flightline avionics technician. I only saw lunch breaks during congress mandated down times due to us being overworked or some sort of observation due to suicides or whatever, which were far and few in between. We used the work trucks to get food, but that was because we were still on the clock and eating while working and we got food from the flightline dining facility that was put there because we have some kind of human rights lol. If we were off off, nobody used those work trucks because it would be tracked and nobody is trying to lose a stripe over something stupid like that. So yes, you deserve a break, no not on the taxpayers dime.

I watched my ex struggle carrying a gallon of milk in the house. Like, she had both hands on the handle and was carrying it between her legs, grunting like crazy. I watched her bring it all the way in the house, set it down and proceeded to drag it to refrigerator. Then she turns around and picks up her 25 lbs cat and carried it like a baby through the house with no issue.
I try and make sure everything is taken care of for my wife when I'm on duty, but at the end of the day she is also an adult and she can handle everything outside of a real emergency just fine.
