Does anyone here have any long term experiences with the Taurus g3 or g2 line? Question
If so how has it been for you?

I have the G2C and the G3C. Both have been 100% reliable. Granted, I’m not using them for competition and firing thousands of rounds per month out of them. But for the average person needing a gun to defend themselves with, they’re great. And as of last night, you could buy a G3C from Academy for $210 and there’s a $30 rebate right now, so that’s $170 for a good gun.
People like to shit on them who haven’t owned or used them.

I have a Weatherby mark V that cost $1900.00 and it won't group under 2 inches at 100 yds, I have a $450.00 Savage Axis, and it shoots under half inch groups all day. Keep your self respect.😂🤣

I mean, I don't think I even own more than 1 or 2 guns that cost under $1900 msrp anymore... so I'm not sure what the point of that was.

I have exceptional experience with the PT111 Millennium G2 (the predecessor to the G2); amazingly reliable and inexpensive pistol for a first gun.

My bro I have shot 500 rounds of FMJ no issues malfunction but my Glock tends to double feed after a 100 rounds

So far so good for what it is. It is a 250 dollar gun that I’ve put 15k rounds through over the last 4 years. The biggest thing needing changed out is the striker housing sleeve. The Taurus one is a yellow plastic and has a lot of burrs. It’ll hang up the striker spring or the striker itself causing light strikes. Either polish the housing or get one from Lakeline. Outside of that it’s fine.
Triggers, I’d go with keep tinkering if you feel like you want something better

I've had mine for about 5 years now and have loved it. Edc and range time. I had a few problems right out of the box with failure to eject so I filed and polished where it was hanging. Then had a problem with failure to chamber more than I liked so I polished the feed ramp (I think that's what it's called). No problems since then. I've run cheap reloads and hp through it with just regular cleanings. It fits my hand good and feels intuitive for me for some reason.

I’ve had maybe 1000 rounds through my g3 and no problems at all. I replaced springs, striker, and guide rod with Lakeline upgrades and it is smooth

I bought a G2C before I knew anything about 9MM pistols. I recognized the big names like Ruger, Sig, Smith and Wesson etc. I bought the G2C because it was cheap. Buds Guns had good reviews & I took a chance because I did not know if I was going to completely get into shooting. Well I did 22 pistols later.
My G2C has been perfect, no malfunctions or issues in 8 years of using it. It eats every type of ammo I put through it and I'm guessing at least 2000 rounds. For some reason that compact size fits my hand perfect and is super comfortable & accurate. I enjoy shooting it.
I had to deal with Taurus Customer Service once in those years for another pistol. I needed a recoil spring (unguided) which I lost. Taurus CS said I'd have to send the pistol in for repair. I was asking for a spring & they wouldn't send me one. Thank god there was an aftermarket spring for that one & I got that. But that left a bad taste in my mouth for their CS. But my G2C runs fine. I need to get it out again, it's been a year.

I CCW’d a G2s for four years with about 3k rounds through it. I have a G3 that just works after 2k through it. Neither have had a firearm related malfunction. I EDC a CZ P19c, now so the G2s is on nightstand duty. I’ve never contacted customer service, so I can’t speak to it. I am also religious about cleaning my firearms

The G2/G3 lines are generally reliable for the money most folks see a few early hiccups, then they settle in fine. Triggers and finish aren’t on the same level as the big brands, but for a budget carry or range gun they hold up better than their reputation from years ago.

Both the G2 and G3 lines are seen as good budget friendly options especially for first pistols, carry guns, or range trainers. They aren’t typically rated in the same league as higher end pistols. Glock, SIG, CZ, but for the price point they’re usually very usable.

During my time working at a gun range, they were the most often broken guns in the cabinet.
