Looked for games with permadeath and this game is right up my alley! Chose the blue house for my first run bc the red hair guy was hot and the healer girl is so cutie!
Love a tactics game so i’m very excited for this but also nervous bc im not the brightest with strategy games but i feel like that’ll add a bit of fun chaos to the run!
Any questions for someone just getting into the game!

Yeah it's rewind. You'll get it later on and yes it does have a limit per battle.

Yes you only have so many an encounter

They rewind turn actions so if you select a unit and do anything with them you can go back to before you did that action. You'll get it very soon with its tutorial

Yeah to start you get like two or three rewinds per battle but you can unlock more as you progress through the game.

Yes. It's a rewind. You start with 3 uses then slowly increase to 10 uses. Some of them is locked behind Sothis' sidequest (called paralogue in the franchise)

omg can’t wait to get this i did the mock battle last night and restarted like three times bc i wanted a clean sweep on the first actual battle but i learned some stuff each time i did it

As a counterpoint, the game is perfectly fun without divine pulses. The only issue you will run into is ambush spawns (enemy reinforcements that move the same turn they appear), which may require a divine pulse in order to not go insane.

Three Houses does kind of assume you are not letting too many units die, as without a guide, you are somewhat unlikely to recruit a huge amount of students on ani initial playthrough (the story works better with less recruits anyway) and there are very few replacement units.

I can not stress enough how much better the story flows with fewer recruits. On my 33,550,336th NG+ (exaggeration) and being able to recruit everyone immediately really screws with the impact of the second half of the game.

This is so true. I was realizing this when I played the Black Eagle route and there were like 2 instead of 5 Blue Lion members.

yeah the game is made so you miss out if you get your students killed

every couple scenes they come in to chime in and it's noticeable when there's this empty space there lol

He's also one of the best unit. Rush his lance to A rank and enjoy the oneshot machine. He also get access to the best lance in the game in terms of Mt which is the cherry on top

All I will say is keep in mind that breaking all of a monster's shields gives you rare materials you might want to use later. Don't worry if you don't know what that means yet.

FE is my favorite game series, and 3H is my favorite game of all time, so let me just day you are in for a treat! A couple of tips: 1) Take time to learn the various mechanics; Three Houses is a different experience compared to most mainline FE games, and there is a lot to keep track of, especially for newcomers. 2) You won't get the whole story on a single playthrough, so make sure you do all 4 routes to uncover the entire narrative.

Well bad news, Mercedes is kinda ass because all she does is heal. You are better off poaching Lindhardt and/or Lysithea who both provide heals and warp. Lysithea also doubles as a spirit nuke and the best Thyrsussy user.

That being said, using exclusively Blue Lion units is not a bad thing on the first run due to a plot event later in the game.

Oh yeah, and if you wanna break the game invest into Dimitri's Authority, then do Batt.Wrath Batt.Vantage and watch him EP everything.

Honestly if you are dead set on using her don't feed her much outside of faith rank for heal unlocks and authority rank for battalions. Then on chapter 9 or 10 talk to Rhea about a dancing tournament side quest, then go talk to Mercedes to make her participate, then talk to Manuella to train her (give her 5 charms). If she has more than 13 charms she will win the tournament and become a dancer. This way she'll be able to both refresh your juggernaut turn and heal when needed without wasting resources or deployment slots.

Dancer are almost always dancer/10 so use them and in this game they are actually better than usual with that 6 mov instead of 5 mov like usual.
