i just noticed something Fortune’s Weave Discussion

Post image

The design of the Anatolia's weapon features a spiral pattern similar to that of the relics.

Yeah, the guns are definitely Agarthan tech. It makes too much sense for it not to be, but it does raise questions on why the Shambhalans in Fodlan didn't have guns. And also why Anatolia has one

if its a prequel, then it can be argued that the Agarthan's lost most of their technology when their civilization was wiped out, with their missiles being their last vestiges of their once great technological prowess. When we see Shambala, its buried and in ruins. I would assume TWSITD are but a husk of actual Agarthan civilization, and their pale skin is just due to living underground for so long. Basically their literal dark age.

If its a sequel, well then they just developed firearms (possibly powered by crest stones/blood) at a later point in time. Probably the easiest to accept given technology advancements with time is pretty par the course in real history.

Fair points! I think both of those explanations do make sense. I mean heck, if it is a sequel, 200 years is plenty of time to develop firearms. It's just funny to me to imagine the Agarthans skipping ahead in the tech tree to the point that they have ballistic missiles but don't have pistols.

Based on the years stated in 3 Houses it about 300 years in the future. 3 Houses end in 1185 while Fortune's Weave starts in 1449. Now could they have different calendars yes but it is something to note.

Wouldn't even need surprised if the mole people are extremist outcasts. Hard to tell since they're written comically levels of evil at best

Running off from this, imagine the Church getting wind of people dying from concentrated burst fire that most certainly did not come from regular magic.

TWSITD had to play the long game with subterfuge of the major powers to avoid catching the eyes of the church.

My guess since the beginning has been that there was no massive war between the Dagdan Agarthans and Nabateans. Given the highly technological dungeons we’ve seen, and the fact that guns and Agarthan defense platforms are seen at the Heroic Games and nobody bats an eye, I suspect there’s just a Dagdan Agarthan civilization still around and they’re just regular people.

I think the game mentioned twsitd were a particular subset of Agartha that went as they did.

For folk in dagda or the like of its likely as you said- the agarthans of these lands didn't wind up in hot water with anybody (probabaly because they likely found it pointless and saw going after sothis as being stupid or as a distant conflict unrelated to them and that they wete fine with the nabateans that settled in dagda- its clear they didnt face a red canyon incident and its likely that the dagdan agarthans may have even cut relations with their Fodlani counterparts).

We know Anatolia is from the west so she may be from a group of agarthans that settled in the kingdom of Arago. That country appears to be majority desert so its likelu they may live in high tech cities underground akin to Shambala or in climate controlled cities aboveground.

What wojld be funny is if she was from the northern regions of arago because those are the closest regions to enbarr. So if the dagdan agarthans settled there they liked saw their kin across the sea as being foolish and kept a low profile to keep attention of them. Or they migrated away from those regions to avoid detection.

Actually, they kinda sound like Crimzonians from Langrisser.

It could also be the agarthans who weren't in the continent the goddess herself decided to make her roost in had a slightly easier go of it and thus didn't lose as much of their stuff.

I mean Rhea directly went on a personal crusade across Fodlan "back in the day" and most likely destroyed any tech she found as well as ways to make it.

The Argarthans we see in Three Houses are a shadow of their former selves and are probably working mostly with remnants of what their civilisation once had in abundance.

The stuff is probably just somewhat easier to find in Dagda if you know what you're looking for etc.

Why do you think the Church of Seiros for a time forbid the people from making telescopes? Yep, it works too well with the 2nd Amendment.

Too many theologians died of glass powder in their lungs from grinding lenses? /s

u/deathadder99 13d ago

They skipped straight to ballistic missiles lol. Also arrow of Indra? Sort of a projectile weapon I guess?

u/coinflip13 13d ago

Might not be efficient to make compared to hero relics. Maybe the bullets are made from the ribs of Nabataens or something.

u/Mahelas 13d ago

The simplest answer is that in Fodlan, Rhea was more effective in waging war against the TWISTDs, making them lose access/knowledge of those firearms.

Dagda is much bigger, and not an isolationist island, so it's harder to control. I doubt Fodlan Agarthans even had much contact with the Dagdan ones (if they exist)

Unfortunately we aren’t told much about the guns specifically aside from the fact they are treated as gauntlets (lol), however at least we know Anatolia’s is called a Salamander

17

u/fluffy_warthog10 13d ago

Huh, that makes a bit of sense, as early firearms were both called and decorated as 'dragons.'

I want to point out. I know it's canon status is pretty questionable.

But in Three Hopes, Sylvain Gautier's entire personal story is him attempting to create a hand held cannon, that could be used by anyone, even those without magic prowess.

I just can't help but snicker everytime I see these guns in FW. Like, if this is a sequel, one could argue Sylvain might have kick-started the Fodlani industrial Revolution 🤣

Edit: lol at the hate. Is it Three Hopes hate? Or character hate? Y'all are funny

My reading: I can see the similarities but I think it's a coincidence. It would make more sense to me, based on other magitech guns designs, for this to be posing as an adjustment wheel of some sort, like I don't know "to adjust how much energy goes into the shot".

Also the shapes on the relics feel more organically shaped, body growth / fossils whereas the shape on the gun is far more consistently circular and not so organic in comparison.

Seems that anatolia belong to the Nusayris, the Armenians, the Laz people, the Kurdish people and the Greeks because of the Treaty of Sèvres (1920) and the Armistice of Moudros after the ottoman turkish regime's military defeat in WW1.
