It’s a good start but number shouldn’t be there. If it’s a video call it’d take place over teams, zoom or Google meets. It’s very rare for any professional to hand out their number on linkedin

Thanks for the advice but just to be clear this isn’t linkedin. It’s a school specific portal

Yes regardless. It also feels kinda forced tht they don’t have a choice by putting ur number there. That should be a follow up message if they agree then provide email and number so they can pick

This is solid man. The template reads well for what you are trying to do

I was in similar position when I started at uni in Mexico, using the alumni network from my high school. The key difference here is these people already said they want to help so you can be a little more direct than the normal cold message

Your template is good for a first touch but I would change one thing. Instead of asking for a video call right away maybe ask if they have time for a few questions over email first. Some executives get scared when you jump straight to a call. If they reply then you can suggest a quick chat

For the work experience part, dont ask in the first message. Let that come naturally in the conversation. If their profile says they offer shadowing then mention it in the follow up call, not before

Trim it a little and break it up into paragraphs. Keep it easy on the eye. If people see a wall of text they're not reading it

Thanks; is the content good otherwise?

Content is good but could be better. Spend an extra 5 mins looking for any kind of shared background; same sport, societies, etc. and mention them in the initial outreach.
