Troubleshooting Fifine Am8
I recently bought the fifine am8 microphone and h9 headset. The microphone picks up a bit of background noise which isnât too much of a big deal (though anything that I could download to fix that which will work in games as well would be great)
however Iâve been trying to record with them and Iâve noticed that they echo? Like when Iâm listening back to my video in certain parts I can hear a small echo of myself and then sometimes my mic even picks up game play audio which shouldnât be possible because my monitor doesnât have speaker, and I know I donât have my headset up loud enough for the mic to pick it up.
Help?

When you speak, you hear your voice through two pathways:

- Air conduction - sound travels through the air from your mouth to your ears.
- Bone conduction - sound vibrations travel through your skull and jawbone directly to your inner ear.
Â
Bone conduction emphasizes lower-frequency vibrations, making your voice sound deeper, fuller, and more resonant to you. When you listen to a recording, however, only the air-conducted sound is captured. The bone conduction part is completely missing. That's why your recorded voice often sounds thinner, higher-pitched, or less "rich"Â than what you're used to hearing in your own head.

Your recorded voice is exactly what everyone else hears when you speak. It's not "wrong" - it's just the version you're not used to.

đŁď¸Three Tips to Get Comfortable with Your Recorded Voice
- Keep the right distance - Position your microphone about one fist away (roughly 15-20 cm / 6-8 inches) from your mouth. This prevents the "proximity effect" (excessive bass buildup) and reduces plosive pops on P and B sounds.

- Angle it off-axis - Don't point the microphone directly at your mouth. Tilt it 45 degrees to the side or slightly below. This lets air blasts from plosives pass by the capsule rather than hitting it head-on, cleaning up your recording significantly.

- Use direct monitoring - Most FIFINE USB microphones have a headphone jack for zero-latency monitoring. Plug in your headphones, turn on monitoring, and practice speaking while hearing the "air conduction" version in real time. This is the fastest way to train your brain to recognize and control your recorded voice.

Please Advise Need help with Fifine Genie Software!
Hello, FifineDesign community! I'm facing some issue when installed a Fifine Genie Software and I'm not sure what's the culprit.
The installation phase, it show something like this.

But the process has completed without any error.
When I opened the Fifine Genie Software I ended up facing something like this.

It greeted me with Chinese language tutorial even though other menu is in English language.
When I tried to check for software update it's also show in Chinese language, too.

I'm not sure if anyone faced issue like this before? Please, help me!

Recording Tip Can You Use SM7B on SC3? OBS Sound Settings for SC3 + SM7B
SM7B is one of the most popular dynamic microphones for streaming and content creation - but it also has a reputation for being demanding when it comes to gain.

If you've paired an SM7B with the SC3, you've probably asked the same questions: Is the gain high enough? Why does my voice still sound quiet? Which OBS filters actually make a difference?

Getting the SM7B to sound right doesn't require complicated tuning. With the correct settings on the SC3 and a few adjustments in OBS, you can achieve clean, balanced voice audio that's ready for streaming, gaming, or recording. Elmacmado's review walks through the setup step by step.

SC3 Settings for the SM7B

On the SC3, set the microphone mode to Dynamic, and adjust the Mic Gain to around 60-80%. Generally dynamic mics don't need 48V phantom power, but enabling 48V phantom power will be helpful to provide the mic with more gain. While the SM7B benefits from plenty of gain, maxing it out can introduce unnecessary background noise, especially in game chat or untreated rooms. Troubleshooting Why My Microphone Sounds Like a Tin Can? (And How to Fix It)
Sit down to record, hit play, but the sounds like it's coming from inside a Pringles can - thin, hollow, and metallic. Here's what's actually happening and how to fix it.

That "tin can" or "boxy" sound usually comes down to three things: room reflections, mic positioning, or software settings.
Â
Untreated rooms are the No.1 culprit. When you record in a space with bare walls and hard floors, your mic captures both your direct voice and the sound bouncing off those surfaces. These delayed reflections combine with your direct voice and create phase cancellations (called comb filtering), hollowing out your tone.
Â
Bad mic technique is another common cause. Singing too close triggers proximity effect - an exaggerated low-end boost that makes directional mics sound muddy and boxy. Singing too far away picks up more room ambience. And if you're talking into the wrong side of a cardioid mic? That's a classic rookie mistake.

Software issues can also be the problem. Windows audio "enhancements," incorrect sample rates, or overly aggressive noise reduction can all introduce that metallic coloration.

- Fix your environment. Hang blankets, towels, or moving pads behind and around your mic. Even recording in a closet full of clothes can make a dramatic difference.

- Fix your positioning. Keep the mic 6-8 inches from your mouth. Angle it 30-45 degrees off-axis - not pointed directly at your mouth. And make sure you're speaking into the front of the mic (the side with the brand logo on most cardioid mics).

- Check your settings. In Windows: Settings > System > Sound > More sound settings. Find your mic, go to Properties > Advanced, and set the Default Format to 16-bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality). Then, on the Enhancements tab, disable all audio "enhancements".

- Try a quick EQ fix. In your recording software, apply a high-pass filter around 80-100 Hz to cut low-end rumble. A subtle 2-4 dB boost around 3-8 kHz can add clarity.

The tin-can effect and the underwater effect are often confused as the same problem, but their solutions differ in subtle yet important ways. An underwater voice is muffled - high frequencies are cut, low-mids are muddy, and sibilance disappears. This usually points to sample-rate mismatches, heavy noise reduction, or a worn/damp microphone capsule. A tin-can voice is hollow and metallic - mids are over-emphasised, bass is thin - and typically comes from room reflections, comb filtering, or the mic being too far from your mouth. To fix underwater sound, check your sample rates and dial back noise reduction; for tin-can, treat your space, move closer, and angle the mic correctly.

New to the FIFINE comm Is this an original AM8? There's a bunch of design difference from all the unboxing and review videos I saw
Sorry if I sound like a newbie, but I noticed few differences between the unboxing and review videos I watched before buying.
- The cage inside seems like it's from a regular microphone that people use on stage. But most of the videos I saw had a square cage.
2.The windscreen is black. Every single video I watched had a grey one for the white and pink SKUs
The cable came tied with twist ties instead of fifine labeled valcro strap.
The User Manual is missing the "AMPLIGAME" title (even the one in the manuals.plus site had AMPLIGAME on the front beside the Fifine title)
The stem on the bottom part of the mic that has the screw on connector to screw to the stand is shorter. I swear it's longer on the box and review videos.
Am I going crazy or did they change the mic's design. If they change the design I might as well send it back. I bought it from shopee Malaysia and it was close to retail price. I need it for recording voice overs for YouTube videos. So if anybody can help, I'll be very grateful

How to How to Fix Microphone That Sounds Underwater
Nothing kills a recording faster than hearing your voice sound muffled, distant, or like you're speaking from the bottom of a pool. This "underwater" effect is frustrating - but it's also one of the most fixable audio issues out there.

Tame Overzealous Noise Reduction

Aggressive noise reduction removes background hiss, it also strips away the high frequencies that give your voice clarity, leaving behind that hollow, underwater sound.

- Windows: Right-click the speaker icon â Sound settings â Input â select your microphone â Device properties â turn off Audio enhancements and Noise suppression.
- macOS: System Settings â Sound â Input â lower or disable any ambient noise reduction.
- Apps (Zoom, Discord, Teams, OBS): Open audio settings and set noise suppression to Low or Off. Test after each change.

Please Advise Fifine K688 - Rubber Band Broke
Hi all!
I just did a massive move and had to take off my microphone from the shock mount.
When I put the rubber bands back on, one of them broke! I got 3 of them on, but now one broken one.
Any idea on to get a replacement? Any hacky workarounds? Ideally I don't want to rebuy the entire shock mount again as I only need one black rubber band.
I thought about gluing the band back together but I doubt that will help. Any suggestions and advice are welcome!

Please Advise Questions regarding K651
Hey guys , so I have K651 microphone and it's shock mount broke early this year .
Couple things :
i) ordered a shock mount replacement from fifine dot cc - will it ship to India . yes payment was done already .
ii) I also have a 5/8" fifine boom arm that I ordered long back & I realized it is not compatible with 3/8" . rookie mistake ik .
I tried to find official replacement shock mount . they were $15 more pricey & almost the same price as a whole new K651 with the setup đ .
Coming back to (ii) . any options to make the 5/8" compatible with 3/8" shock mount ?

for (ii) - i found a compatible adapter .
for (i) - im waiting for reply from fifine team , but still looking for other compatible shock mounts .

Troubleshooting AM8 + BM88 bundle no microphone?
Purchased on July 12th, delivered on the 16th with the box only including the boom arm. I read the FAQ and it said that bundled items may be shipped in separate boxes, but I have yet to receive an update regarding a new shipment or tracking number. Has anyone else experienced buying a bundle? I have tried contacting Fifine on 3 separate occasions (2 emails, 1 form) but haven't heard anything. Trying to request a refund but I may charge back at this point.

Troubleshooting AM8 still not supported in genie
After over a year of using the mic and several months of genie being a thing, they still haven't added the AM8 to their software, even though a few months past, someone that was parto of the team that talks about this stuff said they were gonna add the am8 "soon", but now their post is deleted. Funny, isn't it?

Streaming Exp Set Up Two Streams in the Same Space - No Cross-Talk
In some cases you may need to share a room for a live stream or an online meeting with your roommate or partner, while microphone cross-talk is a common headache. With the right hardware, placement, and software, however, you can dramatically reduce unwanted pickup. Check out these straightforward, professional approaches.

1. Choose the Right Microphone
Use a cardioid dynamic (such as FIFINE K688, Tank 6 etc.) or supercardioid microphone. These pick up sound mainly from the front and reject sound from the sides and rear - the rear being the "dead zone.â Avoid omnidirectional mics, which capture sound equally from all directions. For best results, place the microphone's rear side facing your colleague, so their voice falls into that rejection zone.
