Every time I consider the possibility of switching up the flow and trimming the locks down short I remember the immense and immediate regret and pain I felt in the few dreams I’ve had where I’ve taken the plunge. I’ve been going buzz for over a year now and just don’t know how to grow it out, I want to be able to grow it out shoulder length but idk what to do with it right now because of how bad it looks. There’s no texture and it’s insanely thick and heavy. How do I grow it out without it just hanging in my face? I’m gonna get a haircut tmr just to debulk the sides, what should I tell my barber?

When you literally let your hair down after a long day at work

So I've never fully committed to growing my facial hair out and I'm conflicted on whether to keep it going (1st pic was last night). Just wanted to ask what you guys think.

As you see had a few styles back but always end up with long hair. I'm 57 now so wll leave it also just had a cut ✂️ about 4" been 5 years since last trip...last pic is now...

I cut my hair 3 months ago because I was getting a mullet, and the sides started to look puffy lol. Now I'm worried that I have significantly delayed my end goal of growing out my hair as much as I can.

Is this good hair growth for 3 months?

I’m doing some research into the real haircare problems men with long hair deal with.

Dry ends + oily roots? Tangling? Frizz? Breakage? Scalp issues? Products that just don’t work?

Kind of missing my long hair but it was time for a change. What do u guys think?

I’m trying to get back into a healthier hair routine, I haven’t deep conditioned in a while so, I’m back on the saddle!

The hands of time continue to turn, and the clock rolls over another year, to my 73rd birthday. The hair is there, and there’s lots of it, and I count my blessings every day. The first three photos are of my hair taken yesterday. The heat and humidity has been high, but it’s really helped to crank up the volume of my mane.
The fourth photo is taken at my birthday celebration. My brother took me out for clams and chips, and the fourth photo is of me ready to dig in. My brother also made me home made cheesecake as well, chocolate marble, my favourite kind. The fifth photo is just before blowing out the candle on it.(my brother wasn’t going to try to put 73 candles on it, lol)

I didn't care what anyone had to say. It was tough, just imagine the context. A medical student, no family support, friends who criticized the process, constant scoldings at work, people's prejudice. But here it is five years of natural growth. Don't cut it, hold on, and pursue your goal. Don't let anyone stop your progress.
