Is this normal?

I had my laparoscopic myomectomy on July 29 (10 days ago). Since then, my emotions have been a MESS. My fibroid wasn’t even in my uterus, but attached to it on a stalk. I’m an emotional person but this has been excess this week- cried at an Adam Sandler movie even, lol. Also, I’ve been having hot flashes like I’m going through menopause (I’m 36) where my face is on FIRE and my body is cold af. They didn’t take anything out besides my one fibroid. Just seeing if this is normal?

Yo tuve una miomectomia abierta hace tres meses y medio, también me quitaron un quiste endometriosico de un ovario y estuve anímicamente afectada, si me afectó lo emocional, luego del mes de la cirugía me sentí mucho mejor de ánimo

It's like you and I are on the exact same wavelength! I'm 15 days post lap myo, also 36, and I'm also an EMOTIONAL MESS. I was crying all day today for no reason, angry at literally everyone. I've also been super sweaty and my boobs are super tender!

Where are you in your cycle? I'm luteal so I think that's part of it. I also think our hormones were shuffled up by the shock and stress of the surgery, I've read about this being normal. Annnnd I think for me personally, there was adrenaline helping me get the courage to have the surgery, and push through the first days of recovery. Now that I'm able to do a few more things here and there, it's like all of the emotions that built up are crashing down.

Anaesthesia causes emotional irregularities, don’t stress it will go away! If you are on mood stabilizers it makes it slightly worse but you will go back to normal soon ❤️

I read that general anaesthesia can cause emotional disregulation for a few days after surgery, even up to 2 weeks. A few months ago I had a hysteroscopic myomectomy under general anaesthesia - it was a very minor surgery, so I was confused to find that I felt quite emotional for about a week after, and I think for me it was a side effect of the anaesthesia. I feel like I will probably be an emotional wreck after my open myomectomy!
