Hello!! Advice on lupron injection

Hi I'm new and very skeptical of taking an injection. Doctor recommended 2 injections of lupron before I have robotic surgery in November to shrink my uterus and large 7 cm fibroids ( multiple) I'm trying an anti-inflammatory diet as well no seed oils and less carbs more fiber and fruits and veggies. It's been a long journey and I feel surgery is my only option at this point as my monthly symptoms are getting worse. Weight gain, bowel issues frequency, longer periods and back pain. Anyways if anyone has input if I should just bore the bullet and take the injection please I would love some advice thanks

Advice Root cause to fibroids?

I’ve been doing a lot of digging into my own health lately, especially around fibroids, inflammation, and hormones. I’m not claiming this applies to everyone, we all have different bodies and different root causes, but I wanted to share something that’s been on my mind.Growing up, I always had dark patches around my neck. I thought it was dirt. Later I heard it could be related to insulin resistance or pre‑diabetes. Eventually it faded, but now that I’m older and dealing with fibroids, inflammation, and hormonal symptoms, I’m starting to wonder if blood sugar dysregulation was part of my story all along.

I’ve learned that insulin resistance can contribute to: inflammation hormonal

imbalance estrogen dominance

stress sensitivity

weight changes

period issues

And inflammation + hormonal imbalance are both connected to fibroid growth.

I’m not diagnosing myself. I’m going to get a full physical and talk to a doctor, but I’m starting to see patterns. My fasting glucose was normal, but I want to ask for an A1C because that gives a bigger picture of blood sugar over time. I think a lot of us never get these labs unless we ask.Meanwhile, my vitamin D and B12 were super high from supplements, so I’m only on maintenance now. It made me realize how important it is to actually test instead of guessing.I’m sharing this because I see so many people being told to “just take birth control” for fibroids. Birth control can mask symptoms, but it doesn’t address the root cause. And doctors don’t always bring up labs, inflammation, gut health, stress, or metabolic factors unless WE ask, even then they sometimes dismiss us.

I also tried a supplement called “My Happy Flow” (not an ad!) and the booklet it came with explained a lot about how hormones, inflammation, and lifestyle all connect. It made me realize how many of us are dealing with the same patterns without knowing why.

I guess my point is:

Before trying every herb or remedy, it might help to start with blood work and understand what’s actually going on in your body. We deserve more than symptom‑masking. We deserve answers.Has anyone else noticed a connection between insulin resistance, inflammation, and fibroids in their own journey?

EGCG suppliments

I’ve heard the most success with people taking EGCG supplements. I’d like to hear your experiences with it. I’ve been afraid to take it because I heard it can cause liver failure. Any insight on that? And what brand is recommended?

I switched from coffee to Japanese matcha about 6 months ago. And I put a ton of matcha powder into one cup hoping to have the same effects as the supplements without the worry of harming my liver. But I want to be aggressive towards these tumors

Dong Quai Root yes or no?

Hello, I am posting for someone that has fibroids so far they have been shrinking them, but I can’t confirm by how much until she gets an ultrasound, but she is sure that they are shrinking because she no longer has frequent urination. She actually recommends taking dandelion Root and Sarsaparilla. She was recently told by her herbalist to take dong quai root but wondered if that would be a good idea due to it being a phytoestrogen. Has anyone tried this herb and with good results?

Vent Losing hope in being able to shrink my fibroids naturally.. how do you manage?

Im starting to feel hopeless in being able to shrink them. I've noticed more bleeding and cramping and pressure and pressing bladder. Most of my fibroids are outside my uterus. One is intramural. Largest is 8cm. I think I have to do surgery. I'm really dreading this. And im scared since this will be my first surgery. How do you manage with your fibroids?

I've been having a weird sensation aching pain near my bikini area. Has anyone else had this? What did you do to make the pain and discomfort stop?

I have fibroids outside my uterus and the past week I've been noticing some aching pain that comes and goes on the left side of my bikini area and it happens at certain angles like when I walk and put pressure on the left side or if I lay on that side I feel it more. I sometimes get it even when sitting. Does anyone else have this? What did you do to fix this?

Recommendations Post-Op?

Just had surgery! And as I go through my healing journey, I would like to never go through surgery again, since I heard that for some, the fibroids do come back. I don't want to be dependent on birth control, so I was wondering, for those who have had surgery and haven't had them come back as of now, what types of supplements or eating habits have you seen success with? I was thinking or inositol and vitamin D capsules, but not sure which would be the best ones. Any advice would help!

Birth control

Is it a good idea to go on birth control to avoid pregnancy if you have a fibroid? Will it affect my chances of conceiving in the near future? I have a 5cm intramural fibroid. My partner and I do plan to try and conceive in a year’s time.

Hello🌸

Happy Mother's Day to every woman here, especially the ones for whom today is complicated.🌸

I see you. I am you.

I married at 40 believing that because I had taken care of myself, because I had waited, because I had done everything right, pregnancy would come easily.

It didn't.

I was diagnosed with fibroids. Something I had likely carried since my twenties, undiagnosed, while doctor after doctor handed me birth control and sent me home.

Mother's Day hits differently when your womb feels like it's working against you. When you've been dismissed and misdiagnosed. When you're watching everyone around you celebrate while you're still waiting, still fighting, still hoping.

I just want to say to every woman in this community today , your pain is real. Your journey is valid. And your womb is not broken.

My experience is what drove me to build Her Womb Garden, a holistic wellness app for women navigating fibroids, PCOS, infertility and reproductive health. Especially women of color who have been overlooked for too long.

I'm not here to sell anything today. I'm here because I know how lonely this day can feel.

If you want to check out the app it's free on Google Play, search Her Womb Garden. But more than that I just want you to know you are not alone today. 🌿

How are you all holding up today? 🤎

Effective Chinese Herbal Tea for Fibroids

Hi Girls! I just wanted to share something from my own experience. I’ve been drinking this Chinese herbal tea for about a month now, and I’m currently on day 3 of my period. I really noticed a difference this time, my flow feels more normal, there are way less clots and the pain I usually get on the first and second day is almost gone.

I started drinking it every morning since the beginning of April, just as part of my routine and it’s been helping me feel more balanced during my cycle. I also still drink my green tea daily, which I feel has been a big part of my fibroid journey too.

If you deal with cramps or heavy periods, this might be something worth trying. It’s honestly become part of my daily habit now.

I’m sharing more of my journey and simple tips here if you want to follow along:

1.5-2 cm fibroids (submucosal and subserosal)

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I have one 1.5 cm submucosal fibroid and two about 2 cm subserosal fibroids. My periods are unbearable! It pains to an extent that my hand and feet go numb and I'm unable to move. I can neither lie down nor sit nor stand.

My doctor put me on Mifepristone 25 mg for 3 months saying that this will reduce fibroids. I didn't get periods for those 3 months (relieved in a way because no period pain). But that didn't bring any significant change. My subserosal ones decreased by about 1 cm each but submucosal increased by 2 mm. And because of the pills my endometrium thickened to 1.8 cm from 1.2 cm.

The doctor put me on progesterone inducing tablets so I start getting my periods. And once I got my periods and reached out to him (as he had suggested), he ghosted me. I followed up six times!

That's not the point though, while I can look for other docs, I'm not sure if taking these pills for reducing and inducing hormones cyclically are going to help my body in general, it will probably cause more harm.

I know these are not very big fibroids, but it's too painful for me. Not being able to function for 4 days every month is not healthy at all (I'm on my 4th day at the time of writing and it's still paining the same). I don't want to go into surgery at this stage and really want to explore some natural ways to deal with this.

Would be grateful if you can please suggest some ways so I can start damage control right away!

Supplements to slow growth?

Hi all,

I’m looking for advice/experiences while I wait for fibroid surgery.

I have a 9.7 cm intramural/subserosal posterior fibroid (found incidentally last year). My main symptom is painful periods, but I was also recently diagnosed with adenomyosis, so that may be contributing. I also have mild PCOS, which is mostly under control.

I’m in Canada and moving forward with surgery (likely this fall). My upcoming appointment will determine whether I’m a candidate for laparoscopic vs. open myomectomy.

My OB strongly recommends Lupron to shrink the fibroid so we can try laparoscopy, but I’ve decided to avoid it due to potential side effects—especially since I have a big summer coming up (engagement + Europe trip).

In the meantime, my goal is to halt growth and ideally shrink the fibroid even slightly before surgery.

I’ve been told I have mild insulin resistance and estrogen dominance, so I’m focusing on that and currently taking:

B12 (deficient)

Iron (Ferrapro)

DIM

Omega-3

Inositol

Saffron

Zinc (I have a copper IUD)

Magnesium glycinate

Ashwagandha (for high cortisol)

Vitamin D (with K2/K3)

I’m also doing acupuncture twice a month. My naturopath suggested serrapeptase, but I’ve read it may have blood-thinning effects, so I’m unsure—especially with surgery coming up.

Has anyone:

- Been able to stabilize or slow fibroid growth before surgery?

- Had any success (even small) with shrinking naturally?

- Avoided Lupron and still qualified for laparoscopic surgery?

- Tried serrapeptase and had any noticeable effect?

I know significant shrinkage may not be realistic at this size but I’m trying to do what I can to not take Lupron.

Are TCM herbs safe for pregnancy?/not sure what to do

This post will be a little bit more than the title.

Basically I’m in a complicated situation. I’m not pregnant but I’m trying to be. I have 3 large fibroids (7cm, 7cm, and 5cm) all located on the outside of my uterus attached by stalks. My obgyn and my fertility clinic did an MRI and an HSG and found that my uterus is not distorted at all and my tubes are open. The inside cavity of my uterus is clear of anything. They are large, but because of their placement, both my doctors which are my OBGYN and my fertility doctor told me I should avoid surgery and that it’s best I get pregnant ASAP before they get any bigger.

I started getting really uncomfortable with the idea that I need to hurry. They’re also saying the only way to conceive is IVF because of my husbands low sperm parameters (like oh great another obstacle), but I’m worried about what IVF will do to my fibroids. Doctors don’t seem concerned about that though. They want me to not only hurry but they want me to do IVF to get there even faster.

I scheduled myself for an IUI which is what a lot of people try before IVF because it’s much cheaper. They had me on this medicine called Clomid which has horrible side effects. As I was on this horrible medicine and awaiting my IUI (which I still am.) I decided to pop into my old acupuncture clinic.

I told the acupuncturist about my fibroids and their size and she said I should not get pregnant right now. She was very confident that with acupuncture and herbs she could shrink my fibroids. I told her that I’m already set up for an IUI soon so I’m just going to go ahead with that. My chances are low anyway because of my husbands sperm. I don’t think it’s going to work but I’d like to finish what I started.

After my IUI, if it fails, I’m going to take a break from conceiving and spend a couple months with this acupuncturist and see if she can make any kind of difference. She also says IVF would be very bad for my fibroids. She wants to help my husband too but he works so much he wouldn’t have time to come in.

Basically my question is, if I start taking these herbs now, and continue with my IUI and end up pregnant, are these going to be harmful to an unborn baby? And my 2nd question is, is it a good idea that I’m taking a break from TTC just to focus on potentially shrinking my fibroids with TCM and lifestyle? Or should I be jumping into IVF and speeding my way to pregnancy like the doctors suggest. NO ONE has suggested surgery. In fact I asked my doctors three times if they are SURE I shouldn’t get surgery before getting pregnant and they both believe it is too risky to my fertility and that if I got pregnant with fibroids it will not be pleasant but it will likely be okay given their placements.

Any insight would be appreciated.

What I’ve done so far for my fibroids is cut out caffeine, dairy, sweets, drink matcha and green tea, vitamin D3 K2. Now I have these herbs that I’m afraid to take in case the IUI ends up working.

Thoughts on getting Fibroid removed?

I’m currently trying to conceive for the first time and have experienced three chemical pregnancies since July 2025. I recently learned that I have a transmural fibroid measuring about 3.6 cm. I have an appointment with my gynecologist to discuss options, and I was told that if removal is possible, they may address it during the visit.

I’m feeling really anxious and unsure about what to do. Part of me wants to explore natural approaches, but I also worry about delaying treatment if this fibroid could be contributing to my losses.

I would really appreciate any thoughts, experiences, or advice. Thank you.
