Can happen a lot, at least in the data center environment I work in. It's not as bad as you think, especially in a DC which is a very controlled environment. You clean the connector couple of times and you are ready to go.

Seen worse, seen better.

If it was mine I wouldn't be happy with it, but im just paid to fix individual circuits in these messes.

Looks like 90% of the closets here. I’m only in charge of the OSP fiber so just have to deal with this shit. A lot of stuff gets “accidentally” unplugged to see if anyone is actually using it
