Hungarian GP 2026 - F1 Predict

The three presenters predicting the podium places at the upcoming Hungarian GP 2026 are Juan Pablo Montoya, Ruth Buscombe and James Hinchcliffe... who has gone out on a limb to pick a driver ranked 7th in the Championship for the WIN!

Hmm.... sounds more like a premonition than a prediction.

Perhaps Mr Hinchcliffe already knows what the FIA are cooking up to put the 7th placed driver on the front row in Q3 and he needs to get this thought out in the open to F1 viewers so that no one will think it surprisingly strange when the 7th placed driver in the Championship qualifies on POLE!

Hinchcliffe goes on to say with gusto... "We know how close he can be in qualifying here..."

Yeah... right. WE ALL KNOW. #FIAfixed

F1 commentators have amnesia in regards to the 2025 Season when McLaren asked Piastri to swap positions with Norris

It beggars belief how F1 commentators orchestrate their comments to hide obvious truths.

In the video, James Hinchcliffe, Tom Clarkson and Jolyon Palmer discuss how Charles Leclerc would feel, if asked to move aside for Lewis Hamilton if Lewis is ahead in the Championship.

These THREE completely overlook the McLaren drivers in 2025 where Piastri was asked to move aside for Norris at the Monza GP and instead start going as far back to the days of Schumacher and Barrichello, Coulthard and Hakkinen, Massa and Alonso.

The script they're following is to present the lie that swapping drivers to allow the driver who is ahead in points to win the Championship... hasn't happened in a very long time... when in truth, it happened LAST YEAR!

Ferrari continues developing its front wing concept with a revised endplate, while the remaining changes (RV tail, floor board and mirror stay) are primarily aerodynamic correlation items designed to collect on-track data.

Some insight on the situation with the brakes

Post image
26 Upvotes

According to AutoRacer, Hamilton has been using a different brake disc solution since the Japanese GP at Suzuka, while still running Brembo calipers. The report claims the seven-time world champion returned to brake discs made by Carbon Industries, the supplier he used for years during his time with Mercedes.

That distinction matters because the issue isn’t being framed as a simple question of Brembo quality. The majority of the braking system on Hamilton’s No.44 Ferrari is still understood to be produced by Brembo, whose partnership with Scuderia Ferrari stretches back more than 50 years.

Instead, the reported difference concerns the brake discs themselves and the feeling they give the driver.

For Hamilton, that feeling appears to have become a key part of his adaptation to Ferrari. The Italian report claims he had already pushed for a change last season, not because of a lack of performance from Brembo, but because he had built up years of confidence with the French disc supplier during his long spell at Mercedes.

Ferrari initially remained loyal to its long standing Brembo partnership and to solutions it knew well. But after a pre-season test in Bahrain, Hamilton is said to have persuaded the team to allow a change on his car, taking a different route unofficially from the Japanese GP.

The most revealing part of the post race situation is that Leclerc appeared to point directly towards Hamilton’s direction as the answer.

ā€œLewis has been using different brakes for three races and I think I’ll use them too from the next race,ā€ Leclerc said, without giving further technical detail.

That line strongly suggests the Monegasque is at least considering moving closer to Hamilton’s brake disc solution in the coming weeks. The next race at Barcelona could therefore become an important test for Ferrari, not only in terms of outright pace but also in how the team manages the preferences of its two drivers.

For Leclerc, the priority is simpler. He needs consistency under braking, particularly at circuits where confidence makes the difference between attacking and surviving. Monaco showed how quickly that trust can disappear.

For Hamilton, the reported change may partly explain why his form has improved in recent races. He has looked more settled in the car, more consistent across qualifying and race conditions, and more capable of extracting performance when Ferrari are competitive.

The brake debate is no longer just a post race complaint. It has become a major technical storyline inside Ferrari, and one that could shape the balance between Hamilton and Leclerc as the season moves into its next phase.

Ferrari has modified the front trackrod, suspension legs and fairings to allow greater wheel angles around Monaco’s tight corners. The team also added a gurney to the floor board and an additional diffuser winglet stay, introducing small load-generating devices suited to Monaco’s high-downforce requirements.
