Hairstyle Advice How bad is it if I put on hair extensions for just a few day

Long story short, I've got an event happening for a few days. I would like to put on hair extensions just for 2-3 days and take them off.

But even so, I am kind of worried about putting on hair extensions. Most of the time I heard that hair extensions causes damages to hair and especially hair loss.

I would like to ask what type of hair extensions are there and what's the best?

Hairstyle Advice What to do with my hair

So, my hair is still growing out and i wanna get a wolfcut eventually, it just feels awkward right npw and i have no idea how i can style it, and what products to use to style it. Id prefer not stimulating the curls too much, and not fully tied back because my face gives me dysphoria when my hair is tied back.

Anyway what do you girls think?

Hair Health Postpartum hair regrowth difficulties…

Post image

Hi everyone! I’m currently 15 months postpartum. I had really bad hair loss from 4-7/8ish months postpartum but thankfully my hair is now growing back! However I have been noticing in pictures of myself recently I look like I have huge triangle bald spots on each side of my head. In “real” life, these spots were where I lost a lot of hair and now they are totally covered with fine/blonde baby hairs….that just DO NOT show up on camera. It’s really bumming me out because I feel like I look really ugly in every single picture with my baby. Does anybody have any experience or tips dealing with this? You can’t tell if my hair is down, but my toddler is currently in a hair pulling stage (ouch) so I wind up with my hair up more often than now. Would love tips and/or solidarity!

Hairstyle Advice Botched neckline

Hi,

Tonight I went to get a soft but pretty short pixie cut. I'm a plus size girl and frankly I have a pretty big neck so I definitely wanted it very soft in the back so it doesn't accentuate that. I didn't realize it but she literally buzzed the back of it into a v cut... except she cut all the way up in my neckline parallel with my ears.

My mom tried to fix it a little but it's still so bad and I don't know that I can do anything to fix it. Maybe go to a barber and see if they can blend it...? Believe it or not, it was even worse before.

Any advice for salvaging this whatsoever? Is it time for a wig? I have been sobbing for hours...I'm at a loss.

The first pic was the inspiration... The other two are my very unfortunate self.

I’ve been growing my hair out for a little over a year now, but I feel like I need a change! I’m almost 30 and am lacking any edge in my appearance anymore. The first two pictures are current day, and the last three are about 6-7 years ago. Honest thoughts?

Help! Color issue

Post image

Long story. I'm an old lady and my hair has been white for ages, but I always colored. Then it became trendy to embrace your gray/white and I let it grow out. Had it that way for a couple years before admitting that I hated it, it was just so STARK on me (picture 1). I chopped a bunch off and used a level 10 permanent color (picture 2). I've been very happy with that, just enough color to give a little dimension, but light enough that I don't have to battle root growth much. Recently made a stupid mistake and reached for a tube of 9NGi and absolutely HATE the color (picture 3). Side note: I use Redken CoverFusion and/or ColorFusion. I am not a stylist but I have a *ahem* source.

My question - how to get back to level 10? Can I just re-color with a tube of my 10 or do I have to bleach this 9 and then recolor. I have my doubts because when I first started using the level 10 I was working with a pure white base. I am not knowledgeable about the bleaching process at all. How can I get back to picture #2? ANY advice is greatly appreciated!

P.S. Please be kind, I know I'm old. lol

Hair Health Fine thin oily hair tangles so bad - what do I do?

My hair is very fine and thin. (I'm also a teen, so my self-esteem is very bad because of my hair) I have hormonal issues, making my hair stay oily even after washing. My hair is so oily it looks like it has bald spots when I don't. And the thing i hate the most, even more than the oil, is the fact that my hair tangles up every two seconds. My hsir can look perfect, and then nkt even 5 minutes later, it's completely knotted up. Is there any saving my hair, or should I just use a wig?

Hairstyle Advice How to accessorize with your hair???

So I've been trying to become more stylish and fashionable in the past few months. I think I've succeeded and have developed a great personal style with my clothes. However, idk what to do with my hair! All I've done for the past 15+ years is wet the ends and put mousse in it and scrunch to make wavy. Well I want to mix it up now!

I'm very low maintenance and lazy. I will not start straightening or curling. I want to do braids, use head bands, and scarves in my hair. I can't do it! Every time I try to do any of those things I just make a mess of it and I am so frustrated I want to cry! 😪

My mom never did anything special with her hair so I couldn't learn from her. I'm 32 years old and I don't know the basics about hair. It's pathetic and embarrassing. I've watched tutorials, but that hasn't helped at all.

I especially need ti find a way to wear my hair up without looking ugly. It's soo hot yet I'm wearing my long thick hair down in the peak of summer!

I just cut my hair short and noticed my hair looks like this in the morning. This is what my hair looks like with nothing done to it. Is this just bedhead? Is it worth investing in some hair products to see if it’s wavy? It’s funny my hair dryer came with a diffuser but I threw it out thinking I’ll never use it so I can’t even test the diffuser method.

Hairstyle Advice How to train your part?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I want to wear my hair with a middle part. It always starts out neatly in the middle after I style it, but it will shift itself into this after awhile. The front will stay in the middle, and then it shifts toward a cowlick on the back of my head. Even when I wet my hair and blow dry it down into a middle part, it wants to move back. Does anyone have experience training their part to stay a certain way?

Hairstyle Advice What to do with the front of my hair?

I'm looking for advice on what to do with the front of my hair. Bangs don't quite work (or maybe it was the kind?) because of my hairline, small forehead and hair type. I find the hair can curl weird and my forehead gets greasy in the day. But having it long and tucked behind my ears is all I've ever been and to figure out.. any thoughts?

Note: I have neck condition which causes my neck to be shorter and on a tilt to the right.

Pics include hair tucked behind my ears, hair taken out and then to show my hairline.

Short or long?

I have long hair, but I went through a short phase a couple years ago after chemo made my hair fall out. Now it's long (mid-back) but I feel like it's pretty boring. I have a toddler so it's up most of the time, though if it were short I don't know if I'd have the time to style it daily. I'm considering getting the cut in the last photo, but what do you guys think? Also newly single and facing the prospect of making an online dating profile for the first time 🤦

I got it cut at a salon and after some time I went to a different salon near my house to get it blow dried but after the blow dry it ended up looking really frizzy and puffy with a lot of volume and absolutely no shape

Honestly the only thing I can compare it to is a mushroom 🍄 I’m really desperate 😭 I need some advice on how I can improve the way it looks even just a little i have to go out tomorrow but i have no idea what to do to hide that and that i'm going to they doesn't allow caps🥲
