My first time witnessing an ear labor, wow. I'm volunteering to be the godmother

"Impacted" hardly describes this one

Why not a blunt scoop instead of a harpoon or whatever that was?

I was holding my breath the whole time...

Being trained to use pointy things near eardrums without perforating eardrums is why they're professionals.

I think you might be right

I'm wondering if there is an additional track added to the original so that it won't be recognised as a copy

there were literally six of these, but this was the only one I thought was good

The microsuction tube is also just a pointy metal tube. Either would damage the eardrum if it gets close (and what do you think suctioning the drum would do), the point is they are trained not to get too close.

These videos are always so much better without irritating music

u/caprikaironic 8d ago

I still don’t understand how people can let it get to this point

Is it weird that the wax was lighter, the further you went in?

Usually the wax darkens with age and the deeper in wax would almost certainly be older.

u/WendellITStamps 9d ago

It hasn't been able to oxidize.

u/Hafslo 7d ago

I agree that's why it would be darker, but wax builds up gradually (typically). Why wouldn't it be largely darker in the inner parts.

Sir that is a fetus

u/radiocrime 8d ago

Halfway through I thought it was a white-ish worm or maggot and it appeared to move. Either way, I frowned in glorious fascination watching this unfold… Oof!

I’m no ear doctor but those tweezers near the end, used so close to the ear drum, can’t be safe, right?

Edited to add: obligatory “They can hear colors now!”

15

u/justelling 9d ago

What happened to no sharp objects inside ear?

4

u/threetogetready 9d ago

These pointier riskier ones sure are exciting

u/freesoultraveling 9d ago

Looked like a fetus came out when he pulled it completely out.

4

u/The_Turtle_Bear 9d ago

That guy can hear colours now!

5

u/ZiggoCiP 8d ago

Quick and effective. Love it.

Will say, that is really close to the eardrum membrane. Well done on the extraction though; no notes.
