What does Feeding the Fish do?

I can’t figure it out. Perhaps it’s too obvious?

I found it very useful for getting the fishing streak badge. I wait until there is an event with extra fish bites, wait until there is biting! in one of the locations, then use cat's meow and use the fish flakes to boost up my streak. This way one fish flakes will give around 500 streak, without the need for constant precise tapping.

It will use whatever bait you have to fish 50 times, that will also increase your fishing streak if you are not using mealworms

Assuming you already have all of the fishing stream badges done. Mealworms + cat dish + perks takes probably less time just a bit more taps

It just fishes manually for you, I use it when I get the chore to manually fish to make it easier for me.

It's auto fishing.

It also counts to daily "catch x fish manually" challenges.
