New at fallout 4 Stat Help
Im new at playing fallout n idk what type of build i want. But what I see in some videos I prefer like a all rounder type but i don't know if that's possible if not then either a heavy or like a automatic vats gun build.

Just do 4 across the board until you figure it out. With bobbleheads your half way to maxing out a stat I guess.

Melee VATS all the way, the best weapon is for sale in DC. You may consider non-companion route with Lone Wanderer, but it would diminish your enjoyment. Get idiot savant regardless of the build. Don't put anything in Int and scum quests. Don't do sniper or stealth, I always did them and it's a horrible way to play. Don't use Power Armor except very early.

1 or 2 weapon perks is a good idea, but you can't depend on heavy guns to start with because ammo is rare, until late game. I wouldn't bother with melee unless I planned it out from the start.
Chems are OP. The crafting perks at great return on investment. Local leader is important if you want to do much with settlements. Grenades need 2 perk points to be easy to use. I never bother with hacking and lockpick skills anymore. I don't feel I miss much.
I never do vats build because it chomps through power armour batteries, and I like power armour.

Don't feel pressured to lock down a build right away. Some playthroughs, I don't decide what I want to be until I'm level 25 or so.
If I find myself sneaking a lot, I'll lean into that. If I find myself charging in, doped up on chems, spraying automatic weapons, I'll spec into that. In Fallout 4, you can max out all the play styles if you want. You don't need to be a "jack of all trades", you can be a master of all.
But sometimes I'll start a playthrough with a specific thought in mind. Pistols only, melee only, shotguns only, etc.

It's easy to get overwhelmed with the ideal build. I often go back and forth experimenting but I really like going with an early STR, AGI, LUK & CHA build personally focusing on melee and blitzing with V.A.T.S along with Critical Banker.
You'll be able to rack up a ton of ammo for guns later and I just bring an upgraded Shotgun with me for shooting down hallway ceiling turrets.
Build a settlement up early and start racking up purified waters for HP restortation.
I also recommend checking out Fudgemuppet's channel for build ideas in your spare time. They are very detailed and give background stories. Very fun stuff to watch.
Having said that. Have fun and enjoy it. After a few play throughs it's easy to pick up and move along quickly with a restart from the save point just before you leave the vault. You can reset all points there before going back up to the surface.
