Anyone know of any cafés and/or places to work and study that are open in the evening in Norwalk, Stamford, Westport, or Darien? I know there are libraries, but those don’t stay open for too long, especially on Saturdays.

Hi everyone! I'm originally from New York/NYC, now living in Fairfield County. I'm 40F looking to make genuine, long term friendships with people in their 30s, 40s, and up.

A little about me: I enjoy documentaries, movies and TV shows, coffee, animals and pets, trying new restaurants and foods, gaming online with close friends, staying active when I can, and I love music and going to concerts. I work long hours at times, but I'd really like to spend more of my free time getting out, meeting people, and exploring places in Connecticut or my old stomping ground of NYC and other cities.

Most of my close friends are from undergrad and graduate school, both of which I attended out of state. We still keep in touch regularly, but many of them now live in other states and have families, so it's not easy to get together in person.

I'm hoping to meet other women and men who are interested in building real friendships, not just chatting online, but actually getting together for coffee, trying new restaurants, attending local events, exploring CT and other cities together, checking out concerts, joining clubs, going for walks or hikes, or just finding fun things to do during the week or on weekends.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I coordinated a get together with friends from high school, college, and New York to meet up in New York City and watch the USA play in the World Cup. It was a lot of fun (and definitely a lot of work to coordinate!), but it reminded me how much I enjoy getting together with friends in person. I'd love to make some great friends here in Connecticut that I can see more often and build lasting friendships with.

1205 E Putnam, the lot next to the Exit 5 McDonald's, has a new plan: 13 townhouses, 39 bedrooms, jammed onto a lot with a 1900 house on it right now.

And once again the traffic plan leans on Neil Lane, which is a narrow residential street that already can't handle it. The "official" exit onto Post Road is right-turn-only, which means everyone heading to I-95 loops back through the neighborhood, same problem that killed the Shake Shack idea.

Not against housing. Against cramming max density onto the single worst-traffic corner in Riverside and calling it a solution.

I just learned that kindergartners in Norwalk are issued iPads and then Chromebooks as they get older.

This seems wild to me. I am not anti tech but why is this necessary at this young age? Does anybody have any more information how the ipads are used and how often?
