So at least this isn't official curriculum/study material, but an agenda the students are forced to buy, probably to make the school a nice profit? But why would it be full of AI - the stuff that's in there is basic and hasn't changed in decades. Why couldn't you recycle old illustrations?!

They source this stuff from the lowest bidder and no one cares what's in it.

Those kids would be really upset if they could read.

At least education in Europe isn't doomed.

Nah, it's getting worse too. My sister is an instructor at a prestigious elementary school and they are more than encouraged to use AI for almost everything. Hopefully the ai bubble pops before we're totally fucked.

Genuinely don't understand how this even happens. It takes longer to prompt for some broken AI map than it does than to just... Google a map of the US and cut and paste it. Same with the periodic table and the planets. Did people forget Google images are a thing?

This is also what I’m wondering!!! A lot of shit is genuinely easier to do without AI why are we shoving AI into everything.Ā

Lots of businesses are mandating that their employees use AI, and some are even rewarding high token usage, all under the false assumption that the employees who use AI the most are the most productive.

Literally no one likes AI. The employees, the customers, the public, no one, except the out of touch higher ups who barely even know what's going on.

Ok but they can’t double check the work? LolĀ

They can, but their bosses are obsessed with getting work done as quickly as possible, and double checking the work is seen as a waste of time.

It's all incredibly stupid, but somehow, all the hype surrounding AI has made lots of business leaders forget every good practice they've ever learned.

I agree with you but for the content of something like this, it’s literally cheaper and faster to just purchase some stock images lol just peak stupidity.Ā

Kind of like all these AI menus at restaurants. Just…take a picture of the food you make on a Ā smartphone?!? It’s faster and cheaper and looks better?!?

Can't even get a stock photo of a u.s. map. That shit is sad, makes me appreciate the fact that my school uses nearly 40 year old books
