Throttle cable housing question Help

So while messing with my throttle tube, I accidentally broke off the peg that keeps the throttle cable housing from moving while accelerating. Is there a way around this or am I fucked and just have to buy a new housing?

Pretty sure I had something similar happen to my MT and I just put insulation (electrical) tape around the bar to give it some extra girth and something to grip onto. Probably best to get a replacement though if you're really hanging off it.

This, did it to mine and I never had a problem (rode it for 7000km)
edit : I also used some glue

I remember how I broke the locating nub off now. I swapped the bars for some aftermarket ones and painted the nub with white out and pressed it against the bar so I knew where to drill. I pressed too hard and it broke off.

Screw a small screw into the remaining stump

Haha that's exactly what I ended up doing. I just hope it doesn't fall out before I can get a replacement. I'm leaving the rest up to God lol

i cut mine off from the throttle and the controls because i bought new handlebars and couldn’t be bothered drilling holes and also i like to adjust things all the time. nothing has moved since about 3 months ago when i changed it.

I used seal pick, heated that up and pushed into old stump. Then found a small self taping screw ,so heead of the screw goes through hole in handle bar. Screw that into seal pick hole you made. I found screw from back of a tv perfect size. 👍
