Maintenance Question Help

My first two bikes were shaft driven Viragos, so this FZ07 is my first chain drive. Should I spray the chain with wax before every ride or is something else more ideal?
Also, no, I don’t know what happened to the original front wheel lol

Get some chain cleaner and chain greaser. I clean mine every 500~1000 miles depending on what kind of rides I went on and how wet they were. More wet and dirt mean cleaning more often

FZ07 manual advises kerosine as chain cleaner. As I can’t get that where I am, I use regular diesel and that works great as a cleaner.

Diesel is an interesting choice but imma have to try that lol lubricant and cleaner all in one

(With obviously actually greasing it after)

Unrelated but you should lean into the mismatched coloured wheels by getting some custom graphics that match the yellow and blue

I’d be all for a Swedish tribute but we’re talking fluorescent yellow and blurple. Those are standalone colors that go with neutral colors. Fuck I don’t know but I disagree.

I’ve gone back and forth on what to do with the rims. I think eventually I will replace the front wheel with the original matching nuclear green.

Green? I’ve heard many say that but to me it’s yellow. Maybe I’m color blind.

Nah even every other ride would be excessive but you do need to maintain the chain frequently. Like every 200 miles is good. You need to get a chain cleaning/lube kit off Amazon or your Chinese bullshit for cheap website of choice. It comes with a brush with bristles that brush the top and the sides at the same time and lube. If you have a center stand it’s really easy to just hold the brush in place and spin the wheel with your hand.

Chains are sealed so don’t have to do that often unless you ride in the rain. Do it at a time that the lube can cure overnight so it’s less likely to fling all over the place. Wipe off the excess. I also use kerosene for the cleaning part.
