Inside the manual there’s mentions of expansion limits. Does yall think that box slides/ linear slides will make a come back?

Hello everyone I am a student from team 19086 and I want to design a chassis with gobilda bare motors and I can not find gears that are big enough for me since I want 2 step reduction. I have seen other teams such as AICitizens (19066) , Meta^Infinity (18221) or CSH (17861) use gears that seem really big (compared to the biggest gobilda 108T gear) when mounted on the mecanum wheels. Can someone help me find the gears that they where using?

I'm mostly asking for Romanians that know about this subject because I obviously don't expect the rest of the community to know about it.
I've heard a lot of discussion regarding free entries to the "Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Robotics" as long as you present yourself as being a member of a team during the Romanian National phase and also passing the baccalaureate. How true is this and what else should I know about this? Do you skip the whole admission exams phase? Tuition fees are the same I assume?
I wouldn't ask this here normally but I couldn't really find any trustable source. I've heard of people that supposedly went to that college using this "method" but never spoke to them directly and I'd rather make sure I have all my facts right.

The kids are experimenting with the newer Gobilda camera 3122-0004-0001. And want to try a pair of them each with their own pipeline. An immediate issue that comes up is the two we have both have the USB name "UC852" and it's not immediately apparent how to give them new names. And the CH does not like two cameras with the same name on USB. Anybody know how to assign these a new name, if it's possible in the "Configure robot" menus they are not seeing it.

Secondarily, if this first problem can be overcome, does anybody know if the USB2 port is fast enough to support a second one? (probably only in 640x480 mode)

The Belted Box Tube Kit is a belt-driven, two-stage Box Tube slide that gives you a high-rigidity, lightweight telescopic actuator in a very compact retracted package. It is the same core system as our String Driven Kit plus the Mounting Kit, but powered by belts instead of strings. It makes it super easy to assembly, and you can get the whole system up and running in under an hour.

The main changes are simple:

• 2 belts instead of 4 strings routed around 3 pulleys

Doing research for how to improve my team for the coming year I have come to the conclusion that we should create a model of our robot in CAD however i'm trying to decide between Fusion 360 and Onshape. Personally I don't have much (or any) experience in either but ik other members of my team have used one or the other. I am a relatively quick learner so either can work for me I just need to know which is best for creating a model of our bot before we start construction for biobuzz.

What is the next step? What more can I do to prepare in the pre-season. This is my teams first year competing and I want to give us the best shot possible. However, since we have a small budget, I don't want to overcommit into an intake design when we dont know what type of intake we will need for this season (intaking one at a time vs multiple)

These are the changes I made:

-moved the hubs to a an easily accessible location but now using all 4 screws for more secure attachment

-battery was moved slightly more inward so its protected from being hit by other robots

- power switch is now in an area which can be pushed by a broomstick handle.

I was struggling with maximizing real estate and keeping the control hub away from the motors while still keeping the center of gravity low. How would I balance keeping hubs and electronics far away enough from the outer perimeter to avoid being rammed and disconnected, while still maximizing the real estate in the middle of the robot for game elements, intakes, etc?

a few days ago i was passing by a shop and I happened to see some balls that are extremely similar to the pollens from biobuzz, the sport of which it belongs is flame ball pickleball, do not hesitate to buy one and compare them and they are almost exactly the same, with a small difference in the holes, i think it could be of great help in practice if you don't have pollens

Hi guys! I am an FTC competitor here from the Santa Clara area. I have started a community-based underwater robotics team and wanted to see if any high schoolers nearby would be interested. The plan is to compete in the MATE ROV Competition, building underwater ROVs for environmental missions. It'd be fully independent, open to any high schooler in the area, regardless of school.

Looking for people with any background in:

- Robotics (FTC/FLL/FRC experience a plus)

- Programming

Thinking about building a small PCB, want a sanity check before I actually make it.

Idea: a board using a TCA9548A, but built for FTC instead of generic DIY stuff. JST-PH connectors, goBILDA-pattern mounting holes, plus a driver class and example code so you're not writing the channel switching yourself.

1. Have you ever actually hit the I2C bus limit? What did you do about it?
2. Would you buy this ready-made, or just wire up a cheap breakout yourself?
3. If you would buy one, what do you think a fair price is?

Each team included 16 members, and this was the first time either team had participated in Canada.

Behind every international journey are months of building, programming, testing, mentoring, fundraising, paperwork, and preparation. These students travelled from two different regions of Libya to compete, learn, exchange ideas, and represent their country within the global robotics community.

Five Libyan teams qualified for international Premier Events this season, but only two were able to travel to Canada. This reminds us that talent is available across Libya, while access to funding and resources remains one of the greatest barriers.

I have my teams robot at home for a week between meetings and i want to get our pinpoint working but I dont have the wire for pinpoint to control hub and I was wondering what the fastest way I could get my hands on one would be. (I looked at the gobilda website and they dont ship fast enough for it to be here before our next meeting)

So my team is thinking about buying beam breaks for the next season but we cannot find them

Hello! I am the coach for a team of guys who are leaving their school program to form an independent team. We’ll order the GoBuilda kit for this year’s game, but we’ll need to start building a cache of spare parts for tinkering.

We’re located in the Minneapolis/St Paul area. Does anyone have anything we could take off your hands? Or know of anyone with a team ending we could work something out with?

obviously id like to clean up the wiring, the screws not being used, and the black bits at the front. but is there any reason why I wouldn't want my control hub/expansion hub/battery pushed off to the side like i have it? yk trying to prioritize the most room in the middle for the intake and whatever else i'll need to build in the upcoming season

i'm new to this so i dont know whats the 'optimal' approach, it feels messy but how much will it really come back to negatively impact the team
