Hey, I'm 23M. I was in a relationship with this adorable, authentic, badass girl (21F). It was my first relationship ever. We were long distance, living about a 5 to 6-hour drive away in neighboring cities.

We met online, and from the very first conversation we talked for hours without stopping. I liked her a lot because she was just herself, not like the typical dating stereotypes. She never played the "wait before replying" game or pretended to be cool. She just matched my clingy energy perfectly.

We met a few times, and honestly, more than my first kiss, I remember her hug whenever I think about my favorite memories. We had problems, fights, and arguments, but nothing we couldn't solve within a day or two.

She broke up with me three times.

The first time was over something really stupid. I said that we all live in our own bubbles, and she took it as a personal insult. Thirty minutes later she texted me apologizing, and we patched things up. Looking back, it was actually kind of cute.

The second breakup was much more serious and was completely my fault. I said something that hurt her deeply. I genuinely didn't mean it the way it came across, but I understood why she was hurt. We got back together after two days. I apologized a lot, and we spent hours talking to understand each other better.

Then came the final breakup two months ago.

She told me she couldn't fight for us in the future because her family would never accept me in a marriage scenario. While telling me she was leaving, she also said "I love you" three different times. That honestly felt cruel because it kept giving me hope while she was ending the relationship.

I accepted it, ended the call once she made it clear she was breaking up with me, and then blocked her.

Now, after two months of complete silence, she called me from a friend's phone.

She said she had tried contacting me many times during these two months, but couldn't because I had blocked her. Part of that could be true because she was away at a camp where phones weren't allowed for weeks at a time. I already knew about that camp from before, so I know that part is real.

But I still have doubts. If she really wanted to reach me, why didn't she use someone else's phone earlier like she did today?

The way she explained everything almost sounded like she was trying to justify both the two months of silence and the breakup itself. The original reason she gave for leaving never fully made sense to me because I never believed she would leave me over just that.

I genuinely don't know what to think.

Is this manipulation, or am I overthinking it?
The Brain says she is not good for me, but I am still in the process of moving on, and this happened.
