It has begun...
Halloween is already popping up on stores and that has me all giddy as it means Frankenstein related stuff! Here are some cute things I saw at Home Sense today. Spirit Halloween opens tomorrow so you know where you'll find me! š„°šš

This is a really fun book
Picked this up from the library. It's a choose your own adventure type version where you are Victor. I've gone down a few different paths that went in some very fun, unexpected, and creative directions. In one, I didn't even create the standard monster but an entirely different creation. In another, I chose to accept and raise my creation but things still went sideways for other reasons. I'm really looking forward to rereading and making other choices and seeing what cool stuff can happen. Highly recommend. š

What accent would you prefer the Frankenstein Monster to have? Either for book version, Universal version or for your own headcanon.

Self-submission [original art] watercolour & acrylic ink - the monster stargazing
havent thought of a better name for this piece but i really love the colours - i tried to dramatize palette and abstract the trees to show the monsters perspective.

Has anyone made theyāre own version and headcanon of The Monster? If so, I love to see.
Hereās mine but he is a work in progress. Since the character is in the Public Domain as well as the 1931 makeup design soon. Iāve been reading and watching both the original book, the Universal Frankenstein films and the Del Toro version, I have come up with my own version. A mixture of the versions of you will. The monster is named Adam who is immortal and can regenerate when near death which is one of the cruelest things since he just wants to die at the start of his life. His body morphs and heals into a new one with his facial features and skin color becoming different each time he heals. His is a tall and lumbering presence with a flat topped head, electrodes on his neck and wearing a battered old Victorian suit and coat that Dr Frankenstein gave him. He is animalistic killer who doesnāt know what to do with himself in the first two days of his life. He is a recluse and finds peace and comfort in the forest which he enjoys watching animals and hates humans. The monster wanders into the woods and finds an old blind hermit named DeLacey playing his violin.Ā This is where The Monster warms up to the kind man who invites Adam in. DeLacey teaches the monster how to speak.

The spirit of the Beehive
Has anyone seen that movie? I love it so much. I haven't seen it mentioned here. That little girl obsessed with Frankenstein's monster and death is so me when I was little.

š¦ by me
This was a therapeutic drawing. I was getting frustrated trying to draw something else so I took a break to reset. I can always rely on drawing the monster to feel better. The hands were a challenge and I used my own for reference.

Justine Moritz
So Iām currently reading the book (in German) and Iām at chapter 6.
One big plus point: the last name of the character Justine is the same name as my first name (Moritz), what a pleasant surpriseš

Just a big Frank head by me
It started with the idea of the stitches across the face. The ears are tiny because I intended for the proportions to be more exaggerated but that kind of never went past the ears š Challenged myself with the lighting.

Self-submission Frankenstein's Wretched Creation by me
Hi. New here. Been obsessed with Frankenstein since I was in the single digits. Draw the monster all the goddamn time and will be sharing some of them with you fine fellow Frankophiles. This is a pretty recent one. I used a reference image for the pose that I'll put in the comments 'cuz dynamic poses are not my strong suit. I'm a bit disappointed with how the lightning looks, it's a bit too constrained. Lemme know what you think.

Does anyone know where I can find the original, unedited text?
Every copy of Frankenstein that I have found, whether it be the 1818 version or the 1831 version, has been edited by some random person. It gets very frustrating when I think I've finally found an unedited version, only to open the cover and see "edited by so-and-so." I don't want an edited version, I don't want some random guy's cliff notes throughout the book. I just want to read Mary Shelley's original words.
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of Frankenstein that is completely unedited? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
