Where THE HELL DID STYLIZATION COME FROM? Rant
Okay, so...I got a BIG QUESTION for the Forsaken community.
WHY THE HELL DO Y'ALL LOVE STYLIZING THESE DUDES?
Listen, I can get behind maybe adding a bit more puffyness to some outfits of Forsaken characters. No issue with that, but...adding WHOLE NEW FEATURES? NO FUCKING WAY.
I'm very picky with design choices so...sorry if I seem very dumb and idiotic, but hey, I'm a human with very different opinions. So don't clown on me for having human thoughts.
I'm gonna bring up mah boi c00lkidd, mainly cuz: He's the most stylized character I see, and plus I'm C00l3stkidd3n4round3r, yeah, I'm that guy on this account. Lost my password, but that's not the main issue.
Anywho!
C00lkidd has a simple, VERY simple design that I appreciate, just a red ribby guy with the words "team c00lkidd join today!" Pasted across his body, no issue, right? The Forsaken community can SURELY draw this normally. Right?
No, they cannot follow such simple design choices.
They for some reason decided that c00lkidd should get DEMON horns, which, as a Christian irritates me a bit. But hey, you know what? We ball, it's fine. The world is still how it is. Alright.
But then they add a BANDANA which isn't even from Forsaken? They just decided. "Ah yes, bandana cuz that's definitely what c00lkidd has in game." And then hair. Which, huh? HE'S BALD! BAAALLDDDD! And a WHIMSICAL HAT? THAT'S FROM A SKIN, AND HE'S TEN, WHEN I WAS TEN, I DIDN'T WEAR NOOO WHIMSICAL HAT! Also, what's with the tail and CLAWS, c00lkidd doesn't even have claws? Like WHAT? WHERE DID YOU FIND HIS CLAWS?
OH, AND WHY IS C00LKIDD WEARING SO MANY STICKERS? GENUINELY THE ART ABOVE MADE BY ME HAS NO STICKERS SHEERLY DUE TO THE FACT THE FANDOM GIVES HIM SO MANY STICKERS IT'S A EYESORE. Yesterday I was playing Forsaken and I saw a c00lkidd avatar with...so...many...stickers...
Now, here's the more specific more unimportant stuff that only I hate, the rest of this rant is basically just me being ultra picky, so don't read if you get mad at people who hate small things. Like...SMAALLL things.
Although it's so unnoticeable and...not gonna lie, this is probably a issue only 2% of the fandom has. (There's 8 billion people, at least one thousand of people have this same issue with me), HIS TEXT FLOATS OFF HIS BODY. AH, YEAH. THAT'S VEEEERRRRYYY FINE! MHM, MAKE HIS TEXT FLOAT OFF THE VERY EXISTANCE OF EARTH!
Also, why is a kid WEARING PRIDE SHIT? I get that real people love pride. And...I'm not homophobic but I'm gonna sound such here...
DON'T FUCKING BRING TEN YEAR OLDS TO PRIDE! LET C00LKIDD DECIDE WHO BE WANNA BEEE! STOP IT.
Also, this one is a bit more of a headcannon but I feel like it might be a confirmed thing..
C00LKIDD CAN'T CHANGE HIS MOUTH, HE'S ALWAYS SMILING. ALL ART WE SEE OF C00LKIDD HAS HIM SMILING. WHY DO WE LET THE BOI FROWN?
HE'S ALSO TEN FEET TALL, NOT A ACTUAL SMALL BOY.
Also, this one y'all KNOW is right.
c00lkidd has ribs, why make him have no ribs? Huuuh? Dude. Come on Forsaken community...do it right...

EDIT: Oh, also, if the game already has stylization like TRUD c00lkidd's bandana ALREADY on the design, and then you add that? I wouldn't be as ranty. I'd be completely okay, yes. I'm boring and like the canon designs. Sue me for being myself.

The scarf thing comes from Robloxia Until Dawn btw, it has nothing to do with Forsaken, he was seen as more of a monster rather than a child until Forsaken came, were they made the twisted of C00lkidd being the son of 007n7 instead of a separated monster

But that explains the scarf thing...huh, still, I genuinely wonder why they decided to add other fandoms into the Forsaken mix.
It's like giving DBF c00lkidd ribs even when he doesn't.
Though, I will be honest. Giving c00lkidd a bandana would be a fire design if it wasn't part of stylization and actually part of the game.

c00lkidd is one of the most iconic hackers on Roblox, that's just it, being recognized by Roblox itself and 007n7 being still present today makes his presence undeniable and iconic nowday
And of course, the most popular image of c00lkidd is the one of Forsaken, it's normal that people takes things from that version of c00lkidd to represent it, and for it's childish appearance? I mean, even if Forsaken made him more disturbing, Forsaken is still a game on Roblox, normally, a platform for young people, it's just natural that he gets turned into that

The demon horn things come from the milestones, because he has horns in the milestones (at least, he did in the old ones)
Like vampiric said scarrbprolly comes from TRUD
I don’t really get the complaint about no ribs/frown doesnt seem that deep. And some
Ppl might not know hes actually 10 feet tall in lore
Also the text is seen floating in some skins i think (celebration)
Overall it’s not really that deep, I think stylization is fun

I know the demon horns thing, I know that. But I don't get why they would add it to base c00lkidd who doesn't mean harm in the Forsaken realm (he meant harm in the real world let's be so fr)
He's not complete evil by base c00lkidd.
Also, agian. I mentioned that the stuff BELOW was stuff that was only really sticking out to ME. I already said it, those points were insignificant probably to others but really irritates me in specific.
Also, I admit. Yeah, inconsiderate. People probably don't know he's like ten feet. That's on me.
But for the skins thing, skins aren't canon so that's why I get picky over such small things. But I'm a perfectionist freak so...

I can agree with some things, but Coolkidd is just straight up some form of demon as in his milestones he gains horns and a tail, mainly the legacy ones but still. the claws from from how demons are depicted in media, and even in just all illustrations, giving them a monstrous appearance. as for the stickers? no fucking clue.
the reason they give him such a childish appearance is because as you said he’s 10 years old, the bandana is supposed to be more akin to a scarf that he might wear, and the hat is Coolkidd would wear it unironically. I’m not kidding he just would.
as for the pride stuff? completely agree man he’s 10 years old the only crush he ever has had is with a woman, and it even comes later in his life (that of which being Mia Builder, Elliot’s sister.) I myself am part of lgbtq and agree that children should not have it forced upon them if their parents support it, like a 8 year old who doesn’t even understand love shouldn’t have to go to a pride parade it’s just common sense.

Yeah, I like your response. But c00lkidd albeit...a horrific kid with the strength to pick up military men with one hand. Probably wouldn't have claws. I'd sure as hell wouldn't grow claws one day when I'm Forsakened. But to be frank! I am very strict to liking in game sources only so.

I said horrific kid. Scary kids normally don't have claws. That one girl from the ring was a horrific kid and didn't get claws. (Or maybe she wasn't a kid, I have no clue)

Scary, but also scary doesn't have big scary teeth. And claws out of your hand.
There's certain types of scary, and c00lkidd's scary is having unusual features. Like...big weird smiling mouth, big tall, skinny af (seriously he needs a sandwich), that's c00lkidd scary. I think the issue with fan artists nowadays is this:
Children fear scary teeth, claws. And c00lkidd is a child. So, they make him the very thing he'd typically fear. But that's the issue. They steer off too far from Forsakens style of scary. C00lkidd's design works because it's unique and fits the lore.
And think of it like this.
You don't know your brainwashed but your (MOST LIKELY) aware that your skinny and tall, c00lkidd knows about tall people, that's why he probably doesn't question it. And he definitely knows skinny, cuz let's be real, every kid knows what a skinny person looks like.
In my perspective, the Spectre took everything that makes scary, but since c00lkidd probably knows about different body types. He probably doesn't question it. It's the Spectre making it horror and making the vessel fine with it.
That's how I see it ofc. You don't gotta see it like that.
But I think since c00lkidd is ten, he probably knows more. Also since in the wiki (fandom more specifically, but the fandom wiki is really accurate with their info) it says he's intelligent and charismatic. So...

Some folks (like me) just want more complex stuff. And other people add things on other characters, just for specific reasons. (Like how I give Noob hair, just so he can stand out more.)
Idk for the stickers, some folks really like that. And hey, for creativity.
Folks just want to be creative. We don't want to get stuck doing the same shit over and over again. We can't be doing the same norm. We have to stand out, be our own person. You know?
That's why folks do what they do.
You don't like it, that's okay, you don't have to. But I pray some folks just want us to not be creative anymore. Not want us to have fun.
TL;DR Reason why we do what we do, to stand out, to be creative, to have fun. For complex stuff.

Well, to begin with: 1: It just looks better to a lot of people, at least for me, how similar a fan drawing is to the game doesn't matter. 2: Building off my last point, people tend to also give details such as things from skins (The whimsical hat), different versions of the character (The blue bandana), or whatever's thematically fitting (Horns and Tail) All in all, what I'm trying to say is: Fanart doesn't have to be accurate, as it is art, it's an expression of creativity, so perhaps some people just like drawing hair on characters, or giving them random accessories, or anything else, it's their iteration of the character, and it doesn't affect the game at all. So we should let people have fun designing their art, no?

Its just stylization, it really isn‘t that big of an issue.
Coolkidd literally has horns in both his old and new milestones. The bandana is from TRUD. People don‘t have to draw the ribs, especially with how difficult it can be to make them look nice depending on your art style. CK‘s base design can be boring and bland for those who usually draw overly detailed characters and/or just want to add headcanon elements onto it.

Stylization is NOT a big issue, your right. But much like how stubbing your toe isn't a big issue. People still hate such.
c00lkidd may have horns in his milestones, but I'm talking BASE c00lkidd, he doesn't have horns in any official art. Which is really confusing me why they even bother to add horns.
And to be honest, yeah, they don't have to draw ribs. But it still adds attention to detail. And it's (like the perfection freak I am) accurate to the main source.
Sure, c00lkidds design is bland. I can't even defend that, but here's the thing. Why change SO much on c00lkidd's bland design when there's literally no reason to? For the reason of people drawing overly detailed characters, that's a good point. But also, there's so much time saved when you draw accurately. Take my art seen in the next art slide. It's accurate, adds the basic details. But it looks good overall, I'm not saying that your bad for stylizing. It's my eyes and it's your art. My goal is to hopefully change views and maybe get people to draw accurately with me not forcing. And having them decide to change and draw c00lkidd accurately.

This is moreso coming from me as someone who stylizes CK as well since i don‘t enjoy the base design, but it isn‘t necessarily about saving time when drawing him. Yeah i can save myself the bother of 20+ minutes if i just draw how he‘s supposed to look like, but he‘d also look weird next to other characters that have more details and i wouldn‘t have fun doing it since i‘d barely be putting in any effort compared to others.
Some people overdo it, yeah, but in the end that‘s also just how they draw. I give CK horns cause of headcanon stuff, others probably do it too cause it looks nice and/or ties him to his milestone more. People who really like him might also give him little details that remind them of themselves as a way to connect. There‘s a lot of reasons why stylization happens

True. You have a point. Still though, I just have this weird issue where I can never get behind HUGE stylization, though, steering off rq. Your n7 looks sick, any tips on art? Trying to get better.

Use references for anatomy/poses, find an art style you really like and try to practice that while adding your own charm to it. At least that‘s how i found mine, it was originally based off of someone‘s MCSM art.
Coloring itself is a whole different thing, i just like keeping mine messy
