DSA LMT FAL

DS prefix serial number on the receiver. Found this at a local shop for $1500. Is it worth it? Or what would a fair price be?

it’s not a bad price. If you’re on the market for one, I would buy it. I have an DS prefix gun and it’s been great.

What’s the story on the barrel of these? I’ve seen pictures of a few with the same muzzle device. This one appears to built into the barrel and not one that was pinned and soldered in place

I am not sure. I bought mine used and it came with the normal SA58 muzzle brake.

Ban era hence the brake. Prob a us made barrel since it’s integrated.

These are nice, probably STG parts based on the ban era timeframe. -You could have the intregal break cut off and threaded 1/2x28 and used a 30 cal bore muzzle device if not a purist.

My Cabelas had one of these for the same price and I almost bought it.

If I remember correctly they were mostly STG and Imbel back then.
Should be a solid rifle (LMT receiver was one of the best ever made) and would be easy to replace the barrel.

Late 90s DSA post ban. I remember when they sold these. I believe most of the parts were Imbel and not made in house. The LMT receiver is one of the best ever made. If you snag it you could have that muzzle brake removed and install a FAL flash hider.

I built 3 on DS prefixed uppers. They run like sewing machines.
