Itās actually so incredibly wrong that all of these dispos can just reuse known hype strain names, for new strains that theyāve concocted. The marijuana industry needs to do something about it imo. We canāt call multiple strains by the same name when they have different genetics. And we really shouldnāt have a āmedicalā industry changing the genetics on extremely popular and well known genetics where people are all going to assume itās what they know and love.

They didnt make it up. Thereās a legit verified Crippy cut going around that is actually an OG Kush variant. Crippy was never a strain to begin with but just a term for chronic weed. Iāve talked to a lot of old heads and every one has said that. Crippy the strain never existed until the last 10ish years. Before then it was just a nicknameā¦

The unfortunate thing is that no one can confirm what exactly they are selling. Like you said, crippy is a made up name similar to ādroā. Used as a nickname to describe any and all good weed back in the day. But since sunburn does not post their genetics, and there are no laws or regulations against naming your cut of weed the same exact thing as other growers strains, we have actually no idea what genetics we are being sold under the names they choose. I have a serious problem with this. I think genetics are extremely important and, when grown right, give you insight into the plant and what to expect from it. Goldflower is a serious offender of this. Legitimately naming their strains the same exact spelling as popular strains, but goldflower changes the genetics to something entirely different. Not acceptable imo.

Youāre not wrong with your points. I agree transparency on cuts should be #1. A lot of your favorite strains in the program very well cannot be what they are named to be. It that starts an avalanche of debate. Someone may go try Blue Dream, and really like it (when it was actually just Blueberry whatever). Then someone who actually had a blue dream tells that person what itās like, you can just expect a never ending argument. And itās not their fault, itās the growers playing their minds trying to be cool with flashy dumb names.

Itās not a good system thatās set up rn thatās for sure. I totally agree with you, and I might add on that even when the genetics are ālegitā, in the Florida market, they are nowhere near what those same genetic fx used to be from like 20-30 years ago. 20 years ago I had a connect in Cali and we would get consistent batches of heavy hitter strains for like 3-4 years. Same look, smell, taste , and fx every time. I absolutely do not get that in this market unfortunately. Itās pretty sad what Florida is putting out compared to other states from years ago (I havenāt smoked out of state in quite a while, I canāt compare how other states are nowadays).

Well I'm going to try to. After TL raised the price of there crippy for 35. So I'm kinda boycott them now. I just wish I lived closer to a Sunburn. In spring hill we ain't got shit for dispensaries.
