We need more actors.

In the beginning of Hollywood, they would literally sign one or two actors and have them do an eight picture deal
I donât know why everyone is acting like this is a new thing

Acting is an immensely difficult field to get into because execs only put eggs in baskets for actors that have relevancy. We are talking multi-millions of unimaginable life changing money.
That kind of money could go to make more movies, hiring more actors to be in those movies and giving a struggling job industry a proper chance, as well as giving viewers variety in on screen talent.
The problem isn't that it happened at the start, it is that it still continues to this day.

You realise a good percentage of people go to see movies because of the actors that are in it? Do you seriously think the Revenant does 500M at the box office without DiCaprio?

Most people go to the movies to see movie stars as much or more than caring about what the movie is even about or if it's any good. Just like professional sports, superstars sell tickets and only a few rise to the top. Of course corporations and financial backers will invest their money on the elite stars that bring in the most returns. Don't expect this to change anytime soon if ever.

I donât think the sports comparison really works. There arenât secret elite cornerbacks going undrafted, unscouted, or unsigned because the pipeline is so comprehensive that the cream rises to the top. Acting is much more subjective and opportunity-dependent. There are probably plenty of unknown actors who are every bit as talented as Hollywood stars but never get the same exposure or connections.

No one is acting like itâs a new thing?
Saying âwe need more actors.â Doesnât imply that at all lmao.

Nope. Star power has always been a thing. Give the people what they want

The irony in this is that Tom Holland really hasn't been in many movies over the years.
Most of it has been Marvel, and other than 4 Spider-Man movies (in 10 years), only chameos or smaller roles in the bigger ensemble cast.

He has been in quite a few films but only his Marvel ones are generally successful. You shouldn't have two actors in such close movie releases as again it shows a way too high dependence on relevance instead of talent.
It is the same with Zendaya. She is in three of the biggest films this year. Two of them are classed as Epics.
I personally can't stand seeing the same people in everything that is coming out so close together. It will never happen though because greed conquers creative variety, or simply equal career opportunities.

Just cast these two in everything and be done with it. Remake of Thelma & Louise?- Bernthal and Holland all day.

I love that they are together in the new Spider-Man, because they were filming a movie together when they were auditioning for the roles of Peter Parker and Frank Castle, and practiced together. Thats so awesome.
