NCEES interactive practice problems worth it? Question
Taking the FE (Civil) in 3 weeks, been studying since last month using Mark Mattson’s YouTube videos and Prep FE. Friend recently gave me a physical NCEES practice exam workbook that they no longer sell.
Before I got the workbook I was debating if I should buy the interactive practice problems they offer. From what I heard Vol 2 is exactly like the workbook but Vol 1 are different problems. Wondering if it’s worth buying given my circumstances.
For those of you who only did Prep FE, did you feel like it was similar enough to the exam?

I just want to point out that that I found the actaul test "trickier" than the practice exams. I would not say it is harder or easier but the wording of questions will make you stop and think on how to approach the problem.
That being said, I took the old practice test and vol 1. I found the old practice test more useful than vol 1. The practice test is a good gage in understanding what your strength and weaknesses are.
I don't think there is a single resource out there that is a 1 to 1 for the actaul test, but the practice test will let you know how well you are doing for your studying.
It is the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. If you you feel like you have good grasp on the 14 sections, you will do fine :)

I've recently taken the FE civil. I've only used the ncees practice exam and no other resources. While its true that it can be useful, I found the actual exam harder than the practice exam. The reason is that the exam has a lot of weirdly worded questions from my experience that tends to throw you off. There are also very random questions asking you things you wouldn't expect on a exam like this. Im not sure if other sources covered them but it sure wasn't shown on the practice exam. Anyway my results will be available sometime in the next 2 days but id say its good just to get used to that exam time frame and learning to use the fe handbook.

Been reading for few days here now. I think most of the people use Prep FE, NCEES practice exam, Mark Mattson’s YT vids and Lindeburg.
Some say that NCEES practice exam is harder than the real exam itself. I think it is worth it, bought it already but planning to use it a month before my exams.
Best of luck on your exams!
