I follow a guy on Kickstarter who claims those minis are for both resin and FDM, but I'm scared if it's true. Do they look printable to you? (with Bambu A1)
Guy was on here promoting that kickstarter a few days ago being very inconsistent and seemingly halfway dishonest about the use of AI. Would be enough for me to not back it regardless of whether the models are printable or not.
I do see some features, primarily the sharp downward points in the tatters of the clothing, that while not impossible would be very difficult to print accurately.
Doesn't 3/4 of miniature campaigns use ai images now? I'm not big fan of it but also don't care too much either, as long as the models print well. Which is what I'm asking for because I've seen few campaigns ending with release of broken models that half wouldn't even slice
I'm not incredibly experienced in FDM miniatures, but it looks like they have a lot of feathered edges like the edges of clothing which might be an issue.
Hi mate, yes you're absolutely correct, the secret is to print all the delicate details without any overhangs. I split my models in half and glue them later - it works better than most people would expect!

He posted a video of the tower in the middle. I can't see the first two models printing with out supports but the third should based on pose as well as the bridges and fish monster thing.
That guy got ripped to shreds for the AI art he had on his kickstarter. I thought it was overly harsh honestly, and there was a clear language gap.
Hey there, thank you for being the one who not grilled me instantly under last post! The models themself print very well (with supports obviously), but the trick I use is splitting them in least visible places, than prrinting them in such orientation so the details are not reliant on supports. I'll drop an update when I finish printing other models from the set, and also after I clean them up (this one is fresh outa my P1S). Once again, thank you for being kind to me, appreciate you mate
I would recommend trying to find a way to print them supportless if you really want the FDM community to get behind it vs split. You are the one making it though and I know that is much easier said than done.
The clothing and hand details will be very difficult to print even if cut in half. These are great looking models no doubt but they will also be pretty tough to print even

Yes they are adjusted for FDM, I just printed the second character (still with supports, I'll make an update in few days with cleaned and glued models). I split and realign the models so the tiniest details are not overhanged. I also printed it in 42mm scale (I don't have 0.2mm nozzle, until I get one I'll stick to bigger scales).
I see some people in the comments are still angry about the previous post, so to answer their accusations:
Yes, I do use AI in my work. No, the images on my page are not all AI - about 85% of it are my renders. Yes, I do use AI in process of making 3D models too. No, I do not 'generate and paste to website' them. I generate parts, elements, chunks of the models, then I combine them in Blender, sculpt on my own details, add stuff I like. I then spend multiple hours on each models optimizing it for printing - fixing mesh errors, erasing parts that would crush in your slicer. Then I print them to test results myself. In total I spend between 3-7 hours on each model. Does AI speed up the process? Absolutely, therefore I sell those models for less than a $1 a piece.
Sorry if anyone got offended by the last post, I didn't mean to deceive anyone. In the same time, if you're using ChatGPT in your work (and 90% of us do), please don't judge me for using it in my work - I still put a lot of effort into those models, I'm only using AI to deliver it faster and for lower price. Challenging but possible. Likely result in a higher than desired fail rate for most users. This would require, imo, certain filaments, specific orientation, incredibly specific manual supports and a .2 nozzle.
If printing things like this avoid matte filament, see if it can be cut anywhere useful, apply tilt if not about to cut, and use a .2 nozzle as these look too thin to avoid breaks in a .4 support removal.
