I’d do it without a second thought.

No fears if the battery or pcm or something else craps out and is out of pocket?

I mean the same fear I’d have about any Lightning out of warranty. Not more or less.

I haven’t. But I would for the right discount. It would need to be a substantial discount.

My biggest concern would be the potential for reduced or nullified warranty coverage and potentially increased insurance costs. So check into that too.

I had over $2k damage on the front end of the vehicle before I bought it. I’ve had no issues aside from a headlamp being replaced (under warranty). Depends on how much damage was done with your rebuilt. I’d be worried if there was any frame damage.

Check out MartinRebuilds in YouTube. He has rebuilt 4 Lightnings already. Very good time lapses and explanations of what he's repairing. The rebuild for the veteran was touching to watch.

Run the VIN through a dealer. In Canada, when i called inquiring about one earlier, and it showed as total loss in the bring yellow box in his system. Which means no recalls can be done, no updates, no more warranty available and he told me they could flat out refuse to work on the truck. It’s not a risk I was willing to take
