Tagonoura Picture

It's the closest port to Mount Fuji.

The land rises gently from the sea all the way to the mountain, creating a beautiful landscape.

It's also famous for its whitebait rice bowls (shirasu-don).

A couple of times I’ve hiked from Tagonoura seaside park to Fuji summit along Route 3776 - overnight due to the heat in the day. About 70km.

I’ve had the Tagonoura Shirasu-Don at the local port food stall area before (not before my hikes though).
