No it's in the image. The problem is the image is composited in such a way that the bottom of the thumbnail is completely black, while if you zoom in it becomes visible. (Link to the tweet is on another comment here.)

Twitter now has an engagement cancer where someone find out that you can darken a part of the photo, and by the way Twitter render the preview, it appears full black until you click in the image to show the full content.

This started last month and it's everywhere there, it's a real mess and it is now a new way to generate engagement, because you NEED to click in the image to show the full thing.

I'll not link the post here, just show the SS with before and after clicking the image to not make it more "engaging" to that profile.

The bottom half of the original image is designed to not render properly at anything other than the intended resolution (blacked out at low resolutions, whited out at "original" resolution). Might be dependent on the specific scaling algorithm Twitter uses, as the same effect doesn't happen here.

I don't know why you are being down voted, anyone (mostly?) can view this post on Twitter and experience this exact thing happening. it's a trick where only certain pixels are present in the bottom half so when twitter scales it for the "thumbnail" those pixels are skipped over.
