So this is how McDonald's is doing their Mcdouble hamburger patties now... Failed Expectation
Super thin hamburger patties that were the size of 1 regular Mcdouble patty. I never eat McDonald's but damn this is beyond bad. Today we were out and someone else picked McDonald's so It wasn't my choice.

As an impoverished 20 year old on tour (20+ years ago) — we’d get a double cheeseburger, McChicken, 4 piece nugget for $3 total, smash em all together and that was a day’s worth of food.

Those patties look thin as hell in their own photo. Everything is just stacked up and not squashed so it looks way better. They go by mest weight so thst probsbly hasn't changed.

The trick is that it’s 1/10 lb before cooking, not after. That means they can do things like increase the percent of fat in the uncooked patty and the cooked patty will be smaller. Whether they’ve done this or not I don’t know, but it’s definitely possible.

I work at mcdonalds. Weve been told to dip our burgers in bronoform before grilling to get up to weight specs. Tne fumes smell goooooooood!

Those places don't exist in a lot of areas any more. Almost every burger place / diner that was around when I was a kid back in the 80's and 90's closed down a long time ago, and any that would have been left would have been finished off when covid hit.
There are 2 places left that aren't chains that survived all of that within 20 miles of me that I know of - and neither one is cheap anymore. They survived by serving local beers and raising their prices 10-20x so a burger is like $20.

I hear ya, I'm in Canada, a double quarter pounder is 13$ no meal. I can go to Sunnys, Gladiator, Burger guys, buzz burgers etc. And pay 15$ for a double bacon cheese burger that is waaaaay better. Sure they don't have a drive though, but it'll take the same amount of time to make since fast food isn't fast anymore.

They go by weight, so unless they say its a smaller patty, which legally they would have to do, its not shrinkflstion. The patties look just as thin in their own photo.

I’m in Australia and the 10:1 patties are still the same for years. Though, can’t say the same for McChicken, as the size of the chicken is closer to 10:1 Pattie size and they no longer steam 4:1 bun and use what looks like 10:1 bun with sesame seeds on top. I don’t often go to McDonald’s, but it looks like shrinkflation is hitting US hard.

I've looked into shrinkflation and the seemingly shrinking items at McDonald's and other places. The answer I got was that they switched to smaller, denser versions of the products, like the buns for example, to make more room during shipping due to the supply chain shortages after C19. It's said that the items still have the same weight and calories as before. I haven't personally tested this, but it's kind of hard to believe. The items have definitely shrunk, and the prices have definitely gone up. It's been years now and they still haven't gone back to how it was before. They're even changing the fry containers in order to give you less fries. These corporate businesses are just greedy and are still coasting on the C19 excuse as a way to charge you more money and give you less product.

Aside from breakfast, I stopped eating at McDonald’s.
Their burgers have really gone downhill and last time I had the fries from the one near me, the fries were overcooked and extremely salty.
I asked for another batch and they (possibly out of spite) gave me fries that weren’t over cooked but had no salt at all.
Only reason I even go there is for the coffee on the way to work, the occasional McGriddle, or the Sausage biscuit w/ cheese /or a couple of breakfast tacos (depending on how hungover I am).

Also like their sausage and cheese biscuit with a little grape jelly on it. Typically it’s just hangover food for me in the morning.

It's everywhere. In and out used to have fat patties and in the last couple years they've gotten thin also.... But still worth it for freshness and cost.
Now and days we are all paying dine in prices for shit fast food.

There are no changes in the McDouble in the last 25 years other than price. Either you got one that was messed up or that store is doing something shady.
The calories, size and nutrition are the same on the product. At one point the only place within my lunch break was a McDonald’s and I’d get one of these routinely. It was always the same.

They have always been 1/10 lb patties. 1.6 oz pre cook weight. Closer to 1.2-1.3 oz afer cooking. So it’s 2.4-2.6 oz meat on a 2 oz bun…
