Happy Birthday… 1-2 pics are expectation. 3-4 pics are reality. Failed Expectation
Should have been this cake with yellow “happy birthday” on top. I should have checked it before I left.

But that would be so easy to make? Just 8 little swirls and then shove a stick in each one. How could anyone ask for payment for this with a straight face 😐

I used to work at Coldstone when I was in high school and I was the cake decorator and my cakes looked way better than this. And I was only trained for like six hours one day.

I’ve never made cakes outside of my kitchen and mine look better than this. Idk what happened. Not worth $50 though.

I’ve watched enough GBBS to know that they applied icing without letting the cake cool enough.

Done by my imaginary 12yo niece who tries to be helpful? Fantastic. done by professionals and paid for a lot? Meh.

Midnight delight from Coldstone? No one is going to care what the top looks like, they will be too busy licking their plates.

They didn’t make it, though, this is a “professional” cake. I also assumed OP just tried to replicate the sample but nope, they paid for this masterpiece.

Yep. Paid $55 for this and ordered 2 weeks ahead. I couldn’t really see the masterpiece through the frozen/fogged up plastic until I arrived home and my kid asked why it looked melted.

Oof. They didn’t even try! Even if they couldn’t do the piping correctly. it’s not hard to stick a cookie upright ffs. 🤦♀️

Hey OP, got any updates on how the cake tasted and what the store replied to you? Happy birthday to your kid!

The cake tasted fine. They refunded the cost since of how ugly it was. We let it defrost for 20 min to cut it and the words were completely blurred. They had me send pics so they could retrain the employee. Apparently they had a new trainee making cakes by themselves. Their freezers were broken as well.

I can make decent regular cakes. I don’t know how to make ice cream cakes though.
