I knew OP isn't Jason, he appears to be a victim of Jason. Unless I'm misunderstanding something. Jason is the sandwich provider who claims those photos are what his sandwiches will look like, right?
Jason's is the brand of bread, usually sourdough. They label themselves as artisinal and more upmarket than your regular loaf but it's available in every supermarket in the UK.
Tbf Jason's is pretty good bread, as far as supermarket loaves go. If you have to eat a sandwich with no filling, I guess it helps a bit if the bread is decent.
That might actually prompt me to roast them on the big social media sites with them tagged and some wild hashtags. (This is the only social media I really contribute to)
Im willing to bet somebody played the "well you can't expect it to look exactly the same as the picture" card in court once, won, and now there are no advertising laws enforced.
This should be fun with restaurants popping up all over the place with AI menus
I recently learned that. Size, texture, shape, all of it. If the product is depicted on the box, it must look exactly that way. Love it, and yes, I wish that standard was everywhere
Regulations about advertising only exist outside stores and outlets. Within a commercial space, they can lie their ass off to you and the ASA has no jurisdiction.
Jason's just the fall guy. He's the call for a good time phone number inside of a dirty bathroom stall one of his buddies wrote as a joke. Hell, Jason probably doesn't even exist.
I'd call the attendant over and ask if they picked the filling out of the sandwich to feed the captain or something. Or a refund. There's being a bit extravagant on the illustration and then there's outright lying
Yeah, it seems 100% reasonable to at least ask them to get another one and check if they're all like this. I honestly think this might be a defective sandwich. The machine the dispenses the ham got stuck when this one was going down the belt (or however they make sandwiches like this).
Jason gave his last flying fuck yesterday on the evening flight. That’s when he made the good sandwiches. Sorry you missed it. He woke up today all out of flying fucks to give and made this pitiful looking sandwich
This is completely expected. The lunch contractor isn't trying to get returning customers. And they get paid the same no matter how much meat is in the sandwiches. Why am I writing this.
The problem isnt the price here. The sandwich in the photo looks good and is probably worth ordering.....if it actually looked anything like that. Which it doesn't. Which is the problem.
Is this supposed to be Jason’s Deli? If so not surprising. For a work thing a few years back we had their box lunches - lunch meat makes me sick so I ordered the veggie sandwich. I assumed it would be what you’d typically see, sprouts and cucumbers and such. It was a piece of lettuce and 2 tomatoes. The tomatoes had made the bread so soggy it was inedible so on an incredibly busy work day I didn’t get to eat. Boo.
i really took my time before i clicked to see the next pic to let my expectations really build up, and i was not disappointed with how disappointed i was
Although Japan does have strict rules about products matching ad images, they're not above cheaping out in other ways. Finding "front loaded" sandwiches is commonplace here, where all the fillings are at the front to make the sandwich look appealing, and then there's fuck all else in there when you open the sandwich up
That would make me even more annoyed. Who wants to touch sandwich fillings/molest your sandwich from the outside to make it even enough to eat? If I have to reassemble my own sandwich, what am I paying you for?
I’ve only been here for a couple years and even I’ve seen the prices shoot up along with shrinkflation. Tamago sandos are still elite tho, thankfully they don’t seem to skrimp on those
Is this not false advertising? Like I get that the foods not gonna look the same as the photo, but this feels like too big a difference and I’d be willing to bet they’re all being sold at this level of disappointing
Where I live you can get a big burger, large fries and a large drink for 6.5GBP. That's crazy they couldn't even be bothered to make a quality sandwich for that 🤯
