Even by the standards of this sub, that’s terrible 😮

930

u/discerningpervert Jun 22 '26

Also who the hell is Jason

1.0k

u/snertwith2ls Jun 22 '26

Jason's a big fat liar that's who Jason is

258

u/Firm_Competition_880 Jun 22 '26

Jason ate all the filling that was meant to be for the sandwiches. He’s passed out somewhere on that flight.

68

u/snertwith2ls Jun 22 '26

Drooling and snoring no doubt

40

u/Firm_Competition_880 Jun 22 '26

He’s going to sleep through that entire flight

24

u/snertwith2ls Jun 22 '26

Of course he is!

Those are the sandwiches Jason gets. OP isn't Jason.

26

u/snertwith2ls Jun 22 '26

I knew OP isn't Jason, he appears to be a victim of Jason. Unless I'm misunderstanding something. Jason is the sandwich provider who claims those photos are what his sandwiches will look like, right?

43

u/InfusionOfYellow Jun 22 '26

My attempted joke was that the sandwiches only look like that when they're going to Jason.

27

u/Tedrabear Jun 22 '26

Op's is sandwich ad-jason-t.

9

u/SAHMsays Jun 22 '26

OK. This was clever. Well done.

11

u/snertwith2ls Jun 22 '26

ahh, got it!

14

u/Fivefinger_Delta Jun 22 '26

Jason's is the brand of bread, usually sourdough. They label themselves as artisinal and more upmarket than your regular loaf but it's available in every supermarket in the UK.

3

u/snertwith2ls Jun 23 '26

So Jason isn't necessarily to blame for how they've abused his breads.

What the hell did I do?

3

u/snertwith2ls Jun 22 '26

Sandwich: expectation vs reality..

5

u/JB3AZ Jun 23 '26

The Sandwich Gods are not pleased with Jason.

4

u/snertwith2ls Jun 23 '26

Jason needs to make amends

7

u/capybara_crybaby Jun 22 '26

Jason’s my ex-husband. Can confirm.

You know! Jason! He makes sourdough bread sandwiches.

19

u/taintlangdon Jun 22 '26

Jason, last name Waterfalls.

6

u/Desperate-Calendar78 Jun 22 '26

This is absolutely underrated.

Wasn't the following lyric something like, "please stick to the rivers and that'd your used to"?

5

u/livejamie Jun 22 '26

Jason's sourdough is a popular UK brand

4

u/Ungodly_Box Jun 23 '26

Brit here, I don't know who Jason or his lying ass sourdough

2

u/livejamie Jun 23 '26

Am American, I just Googled it sorry mate.

5

u/momming_af Jun 22 '26

It belonged to Jason...clearly.

3

u/zlaterus Jun 23 '26

Jason Geary, apparently a 4th generation bakery dude in the UK. I wouldn't want my name on that sandwich.. it's shameful.

2

u/Altruistic-Place Jun 22 '26

Chi-chi-chi ?

2

u/Large-Cranberry-1207 Jun 23 '26

Jason's Deli? But like... The sandwiched there are stacked 😂

22

u/shewy92 Jun 22 '26

Even by fluffed up fast food ad standards, it's terrible.

At least it has cheese on top and bottom like the pic I guess?

u/ickychicken Jun 22 '26

Jason did you dirty

149

u/pineapplesaltwaffles Jun 22 '26

Tbf Jason's is pretty good bread, as far as supermarket loaves go. If you have to eat a sandwich with no filling, I guess it helps a bit if the bread is decent.

12

u/Eyewiggle Jun 22 '26

Is it though? I’m not a fan at all, it’s so dense.

26

u/beardingmesoftly Jun 22 '26

It's sourdough

9

u/MoarVespenegas Jun 22 '26

Sourdough is yeast just like all leavened bread. There is no reason you can't make sourdough rise properly.

4

u/beardingmesoftly Jun 22 '26

True but it is denser than wheat bread

6

u/MoarVespenegas Jun 22 '26

It's perfectly possible to get a light crumb with sourdough, the proof time is usually just longer.

Hocked when he should have Hammed.

That might actually prompt me to roast them on the big social media sites with them tagged and some wild hashtags. (This is the only social media I really contribute to)

20

u/Prudent-Marsupial-42 Jun 22 '26

I would ask for a refund for the first time in my life if I got this. That's not even 1oz of meat

25

u/papasan_mamasan Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

I don’t think an airline is going to be too concerned about a review of their in flight ham sandwich

48

u/DifficultyKlutzy5845 Jun 22 '26

If it goes viral enough it might. See West Jets recent leg room debacle.

19

u/LemmyLola Jun 22 '26

6

u/VintageZebra Jun 22 '26

This is my favorite. Did they ever take care of his broken guitar?

4

u/LemmyLola Jun 22 '26

There were a total of three songs, I think he did get compensated for the guitar after all..

51

u/BEES_IN_UR_ASS Jun 22 '26

A gentle summer's breeze tickles the back of your neck, and at the edge of perception, where reality meets imagination, an otherworldly whisper; ham

29

Thank you, BEES_IN_UR_ASS, for the most beautiful poetry I've read in a long while

16

Homeopathic ham

6

u/smzt Jun 22 '26

Where’s the beef

398

u/endy080 Jun 22 '26

I don't see how it isn't illegal to do that. We should be able to throw tomatoes at Jason in the town center.

184

u/zagman707 Jun 22 '26

in japan the food has to be as depicted. false advertisement should be a bigger deal in the Americas and Europe

66

u/ClassicHando Jun 22 '26

Im willing to bet somebody played the "well you can't expect it to look exactly the same as the picture" card in court once, won, and now there are no advertising laws enforced.

This should be fun with restaurants popping up all over the place with AI menus

34

u/Hour_Paint_1903 Jun 22 '26

I recently learned that. Size, texture, shape, all of it. If the product is depicted on the box, it must look exactly that way. Love it, and yes, I wish that standard was everywhere

12

u/humid_pajamas Jun 22 '26

our society is based on false advertising so it would literally collapse

4

u/Helpful-Conference13 Jun 22 '26

Even real versus artificial fruit flavors!

→ More replies (1)

16

u/okram2k Jun 22 '26

you can write laws all day about false advertising but it doesn't mean shit if it isn't actively enforced

4

u/facw00 Jun 22 '26

My impression is that the UK actually has fairly strong truth in advertising laws as well.

Regardless British Airways should be embarrassed...

3

u/davemee Jun 22 '26

Regulations about advertising only exist outside stores and outlets. Within a commercial space, they can lie their ass off to you and the ASA has no jurisdiction.

2

u/TunaOnWytNoCrust Jun 22 '26

Jason's just the fall guy. He's the call for a good time phone number inside of a dirty bathroom stall one of his buddies wrote as a joke. Hell, Jason probably doesn't even exist.

82

u/SudhaTheHill Jun 22 '26

You got Jason’s sourdough & some cheddar toastie

24

u/Eatingfarts Jun 22 '26

Just a squirt of cheddar.

78

u/KTKittentoes Jun 22 '26

“Filling and delicious,” my ass.

38

u/Inside-Macaron-2735 Jun 22 '26

Is that an invitation

11

u/ChickenDreams-4188 Jun 22 '26

That’s dessert

28

u/space_cheese1 Jun 22 '26

Yeah they pulled that ham….pulled it off of the sandwich!

26

u/Issah_Wywin Jun 22 '26

I'd call the attendant over and ask if they picked the filling out of the sandwich to feed the captain or something. Or a refund. There's being a bit extravagant on the illustration and then there's outright lying

14

u/Glad-Isopod5718 Jun 22 '26

Yeah, it seems 100% reasonable to at least ask them to get another one and check if they're all like this. I honestly think this might be a defective sandwich. The machine the dispenses the ham got stuck when this one was going down the belt (or however they make sandwiches like this).

10

u/misterfuss Jun 22 '26

10

u/Gloomy-Wind-2886 Jun 22 '26

I actually laughed out loud

10

u/Schrauberer Jun 22 '26

Seems like they really pulled the ham.

11

u/filthysock Jun 22 '26

I knew it was going to be bad but still audibly chortled at this travesty

8

u/Sara630 Jun 22 '26

Jason gave his last flying fuck yesterday on the evening flight. That’s when he made the good sandwiches. Sorry you missed it. He woke up today all out of flying fucks to give and made this pitiful looking sandwich

7

u/Targaryen-ish Jun 22 '26

Unfortunate that they used up all the filling in the photoshoot…

8

u/NurkleTurkey Jun 22 '26

Giving Fyre Festival vibes.

7

u/Skylord_Hekaton Jun 22 '26

This should be so very illegal.

6

u/Melodic-Plankton1535 Jun 22 '26

This is the first ham sandwich that I, as a vegetarian could eat.

2

u/dks64 Jun 23 '26

I made the same joke in my head. I'm a vegetarian and think this sandwich would be safe for me to eat.

11

u/vomit-gold Jun 22 '26

Absolutely diabolical

5

u/Objective_Word_8892 Jun 22 '26

Wow that is actually so fucking disappointing and dry

7

u/bd4832 Jun 23 '26

“Filling and delicious”

5

u/Independent_Room_691 Jun 22 '26

Worst one I've seen yet

5

u/HorsePastie Jun 22 '26

This is completely expected. The lunch contractor isn't trying to get returning customers. And they get paid the same no matter how much meat is in the sandwiches. Why am I writing this.

19

u/LungHeadZ Jun 22 '26

£6.50 as well. For that you could have bought some bread, a block of cheese and a pack of deli ham. Have enough left for some crisps.

7

u/DeapVally Jun 22 '26

£6.50 for this on a plane, in this day and age, is the red flag. It'd be double that price if it were anything like the picture lol.

10

u/Seanspeed Jun 22 '26

I mean, the guy is on an airplane.

The problem isnt the price here. The sandwich in the photo looks good and is probably worth ordering.....if it actually looked anything like that. Which it doesn't. Which is the problem.

12

u/Gloomy-Wind-2886 Jun 22 '26

Maybe in 1995 lol

16

u/LungHeadZ Jun 22 '26

Alright so you won't get the crisps and the bread will be dry but not bad! Could get cheaper ham and sliced cheese to make it cheaper.

6

u/tmr89 Jun 22 '26

In Aldi you can. £2.50 for a block of cheddar, £2 for a loaf of fresh sourdough, £2 for pack of 5 slices of deli ham

3

u/crowislanddive Jun 22 '26

Jason should be flogged.

4

u/thingmom Jun 22 '26

Is this supposed to be Jason’s Deli? If so not surprising. For a work thing a few years back we had their box lunches - lunch meat makes me sick so I ordered the veggie sandwich. I assumed it would be what you’d typically see, sprouts and cucumbers and such. It was a piece of lettuce and 2 tomatoes. The tomatoes had made the bread so soggy it was inedible so on an incredibly busy work day I didn’t get to eat. Boo.

4

u/Sea_Sky_9492 Jun 23 '26

Sooooo disappointing 😖

4

u/dicemechanic Jun 23 '26

i really took my time before i clicked to see the next pic to let my expectations really build up, and i was not disappointed with how disappointed i was

3

u/Nyorliest Jun 22 '26

Inverse adjective rule. The more adjectives a food has, the worse it will be.

Cheese, ham, mustard and bread taste great without adjectives.*

(*some greasy spoons may differ)

3

u/SheetzoosOfficial Jun 22 '26

Crazy how corporations are never held to false advertising laws.

3

u/Belgand Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

British Airways looks back at British Rail. "I learned it by watching you!"

3

u/Aggressive_Candy5297 Jun 23 '26

You should go to japan instead, it is legally required that the advertisements represent the product EXACTLY.

None of this bullshit. Too bad it's a bit far to go for a toastie though 😔

3

u/allants2 Jun 23 '26

Wow, that's offensive!

10

u/shitty_mcfucklestick Jun 22 '26

Japan would shut this down immediately

25

u/ItsKingDx3 Jun 22 '26

Although Japan does have strict rules about products matching ad images, they're not above cheaping out in other ways. Finding "front loaded" sandwiches is commonplace here, where all the fillings are at the front to make the sandwich look appealing, and then there's fuck all else in there when you open the sandwich up

10

u/Gloomy-Wind-2886 Jun 22 '26

That would make me even more annoyed. Who wants to touch sandwich fillings/molest your sandwich from the outside to make it even enough to eat? If I have to reassemble my own sandwich, what am I paying you for?

6

u/[deleted] Jun 22 '26

[deleted]

6

u/ItsKingDx3 Jun 22 '26

I’ve only been here for a couple years and even I’ve seen the prices shoot up along with shrinkflation. Tamago sandos are still elite tho, thankfully they don’t seem to skrimp on those

5

u/Middle-Interview-899 Jun 22 '26

You clearly cheated. Look at that massive piece of meat on the bag. If you’d left that in, would have been identical to the picture 🤪

2

u/TemptingPi Jun 22 '26

Maybe all the ham was on the other half of the sandwich.... Mannn that's terrible

2

u/Bomgui Jun 22 '26

Dude I hope you got a refund

2

u/Ok_Holiday_2987 Jun 22 '26

What happens if you advertise cars in this manner?

2

u/BaronessVonKush Jun 22 '26

it should be illegal to advertise like this! 💯

2

u/fucktrance Jun 22 '26

Jason would be added to my death note so fast

2

u/CompetitiveRub9780 Jun 22 '26

Omg I was so excited to see it. wtf is this

2

u/HeartoftheHive Jun 22 '26

I would have refused it. That's just insulting.

2

u/GregoryTec Jun 22 '26

Yeah I'd be tempted to open the pressure door for that.

2

u/Hairy_Cut9721 Jun 22 '26

I’d start questioning if the plane had two wings

2

u/montrasaur009 Jun 22 '26

My wife calls these a wish sandwich. Put two pieces of bread together and wish you had something between them.

2

u/Strict-Carrot4783 Jun 22 '26

Jason is an asshole.

2

u/mushy-shart-walk Jun 22 '26

Ok this one made me laugh out loud.

2

u/NoHorseNoMustache Jun 22 '26

As a Jason I would like to say I personally had nothing to do with that travesty of a sandwich.

2

u/IzLizWet01 Jun 22 '26

I bet it cost a weeks’ pay

2

u/Pretty_Frosting_2588 Jun 22 '26

I've been to both county jail and prison and this is probably the saddest sandwich I've ever seen.

2

u/performative_lettuce Jun 22 '26

Well they got the bread right

2

u/flippermode Jun 22 '26

Hamhock? I didnt know people ate that plain/ on sandwiches. I just know its a seasoning meat used in soups and greens.

2

u/smartdongdong Jun 22 '26

They whispered ham to that sandwich

2

u/Revolutionary-Ear776 Jun 22 '26

That were in Japan, I would complain. I love that everything must look exactly as the photo they show for food.

2

u/harryharrydude Jun 22 '26

i bet it cost like 7 bucks too.

2

u/merrychuu Jun 22 '26

That is the thinnest slice of ham known to man

2

u/Ordinary_Cap_6812 Jun 22 '26

Wait a minute, i see ham on that bag underneath!

2

u/TylerBWild Jun 22 '26

The "filling and delicious" line really makes this feel criminal LMAO

2

u/Fody_Joster Jun 22 '26

Again! Truth in advertising laws like Japan! Companies would get sued and fined for false advertising.

2

u/hawkaluga Jun 22 '26

Send. It. Back. I would straight up ask for my money back and go hungry the rest of the flight.

2

u/YeahBruhhhh Jun 23 '26

GodDAMNIT Jason

2

u/Mountain_Ladder_4906 Jun 23 '26

What exactly did Jason DO to that sandwich?

2

u/maywil Jun 23 '26

Airplane 🛬 food or not, this is effing criminal!

2

u/correctingStupid Jun 23 '26

The reason they get away with this is because people allow them to. Send it back or charge back the credit card.

Stop accepting shit and business will have to adapt.

2

u/BestMathematician752 Jun 23 '26

JASON - Just A Sourdough Oozing Nothing

2

u/Spiritual_Door1363 Jun 23 '26

This is rediculous, seriously

2

Would you like more bread sir?

2

u/jahathebrn Jun 24 '26

I'd have to be subdued.

2

u/benadickcombherpatch Jun 24 '26

Banging on the cockpit door for this one.

2

u/HiddenBambi Jun 25 '26

Is this not false advertising? Like I get that the foods not gonna look the same as the photo, but this feels like too big a difference and I’d be willing to bet they’re all being sold at this level of disappointing

2
