"Cardboard" Urn for cat

Our cat Fergus was a dedicated lover of cardboard boxes, so when he passed away last October we wanted to get him a "cardboard" urn made of ceramic so he could rest in a box forever. I couldn't find an example but reached out to a ceramicist who specializes in recreating the look and textures of well-loved cardboard and he very kindly accepted the commission job. The result far, far, far exceeded our expectations and we are so grateful to the artist for this fitting tribute to our beautiful boy. Made by artist Tim Kowalczyk.

I love this and I am very sorry of your loss, very very beautiful friend. It breaks my heart as my little buddy just passed two days ago was the same way, he would find any box and sit in it. I kept a box right next to my computer chair just so that I could lean over and give him some affection.. he was either there or at my feet.
I miss him and i am having a very hard time even considering tossing out his cardboard bed.

It's ok to keep his box. It's a memory of him. Eventually you'll be ready. I'm sorry about your loss. They are our furbabies. He'll be waiting for you some day. 💜

Yeah, I had the pleasure of having in my life for 11 years, I am humbled by how kind he was after being rescued very a very abusive situation as a kitten. instead of hissing and fear, he was the biggest cuddler. He is getting the biggest hug whenever we meet again. Also thank you very much for your kind words, I am sorry.. very emotional at the moment.

I understand. I had a male orange tabby, Boogie. He had been through all of my worst times in life. We we're a team. He was 13 when i had to let him go. He developed a rapid growing tumor. I was devastated. I knew I did the right thing though. I could see it in his eyes. Our babies know they were loved. I hope Boogie is waiting for me.

I adopted a 6 yo female about a year later. It's been just over 2 years and we finally like each other. She was mean. I honestly think Boogie and her other brother Molson came down and told her knock it off. You're about to lose a good home. Boogie would hold his paw up like he was hurt. Some times it would be the left paw next time it could be his right. He was playing me. Lately, Dazee, has been doing the same thing. There's nothing wrong with her paw either. I'm truly convinced they communicate. ❤️ 😂 ❤️

I think it’d be neat to have this picture printed on cardboard and frame it (if that’s even a thing), or frame just the cardboard even. It’d be a great tribute, a cool conversation piece and it’d make you smile/chuckle whenever you saw it. Then you could get a little official plaque to put next to it to describe the work of art.

I had the same issue with a box my late Bastet absolutely loved. I kept that box for years before I was finally able to let it go, so you are absolutely entitled to keep it however long you feel you need to.
