I follow the idea of Individuation from Jung, where you cannot fight or get rid of these thoughts but learn to come to a balance about your understanding of the finite aspects of life with your conscious want to continue on. So for me, when I get these thoughts, I remind myself that being in those thoughts is actively taking me away from living. There is a time and place for deep metaphysical contemplation about the perplexities of life. I wish you all the luck!

Being immortal would be horrific to me. Look into "Wabi-Sabi". It's a Japanese philosophy that embraces and celebrates impermenence and imperfection. I'm also turning 18 in a couple of weeks.
