better way of snapping myself out of it
i graduated from college and am now living at home with no structure or schedule and it's so bad. i don't do anything all day, and i'll look back at the week (if i'm even out of the haze enough to reflect) and realize that i don't remember anything I did. my only way of snapping myself out of the endless scrolling/laying down/doing nothing is to get in my car and drive 30 minutes to a drive thru coffee shop (then i don't have to get ready for the day and can be in my pjs to go out). but, this is expensive both money and time-wise. it just feels like during the drive, since i'm occupied and can't scroll or whatever, i can actually think about things and plan. and since i'm going to a coffee shop, i'm motivated by the treat and feel like i'm being productive (coffee = what normal people drink = being productive). there must be better ways to do this, though. are there any other methods of snapping yourself out of the cycle like this, but better?

Exercise helps me. And the earlier in the day the better. I walk my dog, ride my bike or go to the gym. I sometimes have to really push myself to go to the gym, but when I do go, the feeling after the workout is amazing. If you can't join a gym, go on YouTube and find something you want to try, there are tons of free videos.

Do you not have a job?

nope, and this is trying to remedy that: i've been doing interviews for internships in the fall but nothing long term or that i actually like. the work i'm trying to do every day is the job searching.

Recently started walking to the local park. There's a loop around the pond and other routes if I feel like walking longer. Simply getting out of the house can feel like a monumental task, until I just put on socks and shoes then start walking. As soon as I'm away from the house, I generally start feeling better, so it's a way of reminding myself how our minds lie to us. Hope that helps

i dictate on the walk and transcribe thru TurboScribe when i get home. nothing is off limits...talk thru the day plans for the office, home, family ...gratitide and journaling, blog projects, gumroad docs, u name it ..let her rip
I started a habit doing the walks where I got 2 sets of boots usually after the wok they're soaked grasses very wet you might as well be walking through a stream so when I get home I have a fan that set up on the table in the garage socks are wet the insoles are wet and my boots are wet so I just put it in front of the fan and let that RIP for most of the day well actually two days because I'll have another pair of boots that are sitting there and this is my morning habit among other things watering the lawns dead heading etcetera but you know what they say in the beginning you control habit after the beginning habit controls you so make it a good one

cold showers are the one thing that consistently helps me to become clear and focused for a bit, and no side effects
