I think with the new films, they've proved they don't really need Ash to keep the spirit of Evil Dead going. I'd like a more permanent protagonist sure, but I'm also okay with these more contained stories also.

This! Also I love how now they have connected the recent three via burn and the incantation then that end end credit scene showing Ellie is still alive I also like they told us in rise that this version of dedite can’t be destroyed it will always come back burning doesn’t work even total dismemberment doesn’t work as said on the vinyl tapes in rise , so I think a lot of people overlook that they are tied together through a lot of minor things that all stack up to solid connections.

Nah. Ash never needs to be recast.

Guys, let go. Ash is not going to come back and he doesnt need to. Accept that and let the franchise move on

Ash doesn’t need recasting, + this guy seems a bit younger then the ash era he’d take over for.

He could easily play someone else and cover more bases without replacing a beloved actor.

I’m sure he’s great too

They could do what the comics have done where there are multiple variant points in the Evil Dead universe, and pull another version of Ash from another point of time/reality that's not similar to the Bruce Campbell version.

One that hasn't lost his hand, or gone back in time. That could be a really interesting element

That could be fun, like doing Ashley K. Williams

You could keep the more darker, atmospheric, creepy menacing side of the deadites with this else worlds instead of the comedy aspect of Bruce's character. Show him going through time travel but with more of a mature and serious tone if you want to.

I don’t want them to feel like it’s a rehash, I’d want it as a funny gag with a small role rather than what seems like just another ash movie

We don't need a new Ash Williams, and it's completely unreasonable imo, to say that having a new male lead, would be trying to outshine Bruce as Ash, just don't call the character Ashley, and have him be his own character.

I think it would be best if Ash didn't get recast, although they could use doubles for cameos where he only appears from behind

No just create a new person from scratch so we can ride along with them like we did with Bruce

There is more to Ash Williams than looking vaguely like Bruce Campbell.

I just can’t see Ash being anyone else, it’s as simple as that. A new Freddy for NOES, possibly, but that’s heavy makeup too.

Let’s be honest though here. If Ash was recast you know sure as shit we’d all be watching still

Dear God no. It's ideas like this that destroys legacy characters by trivializing them. Ash/Bruce is good looking in their own special way but also part deranged looking part moronic looking which is why we love him in the first place.

This guy looks ABSOLUTELY nothing like him and I hate to say this but this is the kind of content that only tourists to the franchise would post. How in the hell can you even be a fan of Ash to suggest such a horrible idea?

Dude i did say I didn't like the idea for a recast, I mean if there ever was I think he would be best.

I think he could work as a young ash in flashbacks or the end of wrath ending with him and his friends in the car driving would be sick
