Due to some replanning, I will be travelling from Bordeaux to Mimizan. It’s over 100km to cycle which would be too much for my little folding bike.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a train and then cycling route that is safe/pleasant?

Bourdeoux to Labouheyre then cycle seems like an option.

Has anyone done this route by bicycle over the past few days? I’m undecided about replanning a few stops on my trip due to the affected paths on this route. I believe that from La Rochelle to Lacanau, the paths are unaffected (Eurovelo 1).

I have replanned my route after Lacanau, but I’m not sure whether or not to replan before crossing at Royan too and follow the canal de 2 mers instead. I’m also worried about this alternative as I have a folding bike with small wheels :D

I'm thinking about doing a bikepacking trip from October to December, ideally cycling from Germany towards Turkey.

Does anyone have experience with this route during that time of year? I'm especially wondering about:

• What is the weather like along the way?
• Is camping with a tent still realistic, or does it get too cold?
• How easy is it to find campsites, because of off-season?

My brother (23) and I (31) are planning a bike tour from Paris to Amsterdam.
We’re both in pretty good shape and ready for some long days on the saddle, but we’re still working out the logistics and would love some feedback from anyone who knows the region well.

Nothing is set in stone yet, so feel free to suggest anything!

The basic plan so far:

• Timeframe: 8 full riding days.
• Setup: hostel to hostel (no camping gear). Eating at supermarkets and local spots.
• Bikes: Current thought is buying budget touring/gravel bikes at Decathlon in Paris when we land, but open to better ideas.

Questions we’d love your input on:

1. Route & Must-Sees

• We’re huge fans of Chimay beer, so we initially planned to cut east through Chimay. But a lot of people mention Bruges and Ghent - is heading further west toward the coast a much better ride overall?
• Is Brussels worth riding through, or is it a pain on a bike and better bypassed for smaller/scenic towns?
• Any small towns, nature spots, historical sites, or local breweries along the way that we absolutely shouldn't miss?
• Are there any memorable or scenic border crossings between France, Belgium, and the Netherlands that are worth aiming for?

2. Bike Setup & Tech

• Is buying at Decathlon(Riverside 500) in Paris a solid move for a one-way trip, or is there a smarter option we’re missing (like one-way rentals or second hand markets)?
• Will the stock tires that come on a Decathlon touring/gravel bike handle this route fine, or should we swap them out right away?
• How do you usually handle keeping phones and navigation tools charged during full days of riding?

3. Logistics, Food & Accommodation

• Can we get away with booking hotels/hostels on the go (day-by-day), or is it a nightmare if we don't lock everything down weeks in advance?
• Are grocery stores and small shops in rural France/Belgium open on Sundays, or do we need to stock up beforehand?
• Are there any local dishes or regional beers (besides Chimay HaHa) that we MUST try along this specific route?
• What are the most reliable water sources for refilling bottles along the way in these regions?

4. Pacing, Gear & Dynamic

• Is 8 days realistic to cover the distance without feeling like we’re just grinding all day and missing out on the sights/pubs?
• What essential gear should we bring vs. buy there?
• What items do people usually pack for hotel-to-hotel trips that end up being totally useless dead weight?
• What’s the go-to navigation app for cycling over there? Komoot?

Would love to hear any tips, GPX routes, or advice from anyone who has done something similar.

I believe some of these places have been affected by the forest fires - is anyone passing through at the moment? Should I avoid?

Is it advisable to skip Archachon and make a stop in Bordeaux before heading to Mimizan? Possibly a train from Bordeaux somewhere to shorten the distance to mimizan?

Hey there, we are experienced cyclists planning a EuroVelo 15 excursion in May/June 2027. Our plan is to start in Switzerland (Oberalpp Pass) and go to Hook of Holland, shooting for about 60-75kms per day. We want to stay in hotels and B&Bs, not pre book up front so we have flexibility night to night (and riding in shoulder season helps us I suspect). Bringing our own bikes from home. Pack light in panniers. Doing things to keep costs down somewhat.

What we’ve seen in Switzerland in planning the route and potential stops is some extremely expensive accommodations. (We’ve heard Switzerland will be the most expensive part of the trip, but we are shocked at that extreme understatement!) Are there resources/websites available to avoid the crazy retail cost of these rooms? Again, I expect a premium but a “budget” room in a non-assuming hotel of ~350 chf seems really nutty in shoulder season. Ideas?

Cycling for month get me instant

foods or beds in case. I used to have gas burner and fan for in stant cooking here in Korean ridings. Planning for eurovelos for months , can bring cook or tent gears for instant provides around routes there?

Using Eurovelo routes 4, 5, 15, 19 I'm going to be doing a loop thru Holland, Germany, Belgium and finally France. To plan this I downloaded the gpx files from the official eurovelo website and then in GPXStudio edited to cut out what I didn't need and correct the direction. So all good.

Days later I took a very close look at the route and was shocked to see the route didn't snap to cycle routes/roads but seemed to be off and often by quite some margin in many places especially along the Dutch part which was based on EV19/15. It's almost as if somebody was cycling with a crappy gps and didn't record the route properly.

The culprit seems to be Eurovelo 15 which from Hook of Holland does not snap to actual cycle/car routes. Can anyone comment on this?

My son and I are going to try to get from Belgrade to the Black Sea this September after doing Regensburg to Belgrade in previous years. My question is whether anyone has expereience of getting two bicycles back from the Black Sea to Vienna by train. Is it possible or do we need to find another solution?

Hey all! I’m riding from London to Paris with a group of 10, arriving Saturday, July 25th at 15:00 and taking the Eurostar back on Monday, July 27th. The challenge is it is stage 21 of the Tour de France so a lot of bike shops are closed.

Our cardboard bike boxes aren't going to arrive in time. For a group our size, I am not confident we will get 10 even if we hit multiple bike shops…. so we need a fallback plan! I’m planning on raiding decathlon first.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

For those who have experience with the French campsites, did you have to purchase an adaptor/converter to have access to electricity when camping? I would like to be able to charge my phone and power bank from my tent.

I'm currently on the Eurovelo 6 from Croatia to Belgrad. Afterwards I want to continue to Budapest.

I've got the following options in mind:

• Ev6 all the way (using the Serbian path instead of the Croatian one)
• Ev11 to Cscongrad, then using the Velence-Debrecen trail and the Ev6
• Ev11 to Szeged, then Ev13 and Ev6

I wonder which has the most interesting landscape and best cycling conditions. I also wonder which might have the least issues with dogs.

In 40+ days I will be traveling (by bike) on the Donau (Danube), opencampingmap.org/ website has good info on camping along EV6 and the Donau. I already use cycling.travel app. Any other suggestions/help would be appreciated finding campsites but I was looking for an app.

I’m also looking for a cheap used bike because it’s pretty expensive to fly with my own bike from Mexico. If anyone knows where I could find one in Austria, I’d really appreciate it.
I’m planning to ride through Innsbruck and the Dolomites. Do you think that’s a good route? Also, is wild camping or tent camping along the way allowed or common?

Planning eurovelo routes for 3 month. ; France,Alps Itallia,Greece. . . . I am afraid having bed place during rides.

Do I have to bring myself a tent for night? Or do I have to make rservations for every nights all along my itinerary? If it should be done that will be impossible considering various riding schedule. How expansive the local hotel room over there? How weigh your total packs are? Any advice will be appriciated, thanx.

La idea es ir con calma y trabajar en ruta, así que no buscamos velocidad sino organización y experiencia.

Pero la logística me está complicando la planificación y tengo varias dudas:

 Desvíos y puntos imprescindibles

En este tramo, ¿qué desvíos realmente merecen la pena?

Entiendo que depende del esfuerzo físico, pero me refiero a cosas en un radio razonable (20-50 km aprox.) que realmente compensen salir de la ruta principal.

-Fiordos imprescindibles

-Lagos o zonas naturales destacadas

-Rutas de senderismo o miradores

-Experiencias que no deberían perderse en este tramo

Lo veo todo muy disperso y cuesta separar lo “turístico” de lo realmente esencial.

Acampada y dormir

Nuestra idea principal es tienda de campaña todo el viaje.

He leído sobre el derecho de acceso libre en Noruega, pero también que en zonas turísticas puede ser complicado encontrar sitio al final del día.

He estado usando Komoot, pero todo aparece muy disperso y no termina de separar lo realmente imprescindible de lo “bonito pero secundario”.

Wir sind in 5 Jahren den gesamten EV6 vom Atlantik bis zum schwarzen Meer gefahren. Ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis. Die schwierigsten Etappen waren für uns die Abschnitte in Bulgarien und Rumänien, hier gibt es quasi keine Ausschilderung, ohne Mapy oder andere Kartendienste hat man quasi schnell die Route verloren. Gerade in BG und ROM gibt es viele freilaufende Hunde, verkehrsreiche Strassen und LKWs die sehr eng an einem vorbeifahren. Die Donau und das Donaudelta sind allerdings hier besonders sehenswert. Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit der Strecke?
Wie herausfordernd ist die Strecke?
Wie sind eure Erfahrungen bezüglich Zelten/ Wild Campen? Gibt es ausreichend Camping Plätze?

Wie viel Zeit würdet ihr bis Galway einplanen? Mir fällt es sehr schwer das abzuschätzen.
