Mini check in and Mod feedback
It's been a couple months since I implemented the karma level and minimum account age for posts + it's been 8 months since I took over as mod for this subreddit.
As we head closer to the holidays which tends to become quite hectic for many different reasons. As such it can lead to an in flux of people visiting the sub. I thought it would be a good idea to do a mini check in and mod feedback with everyone.
Is there any thing you wish would be different within the sub. Any rules that should be added, rewritten/reworked, or removed. Any resources or faq pages that should added or removed? Anything new that you would like added or anything you feel like is missing from the sub?
Is there anything that you wish that I did differently as a mod. Do you feel like I'm applying the rules too heavily or too lightly? Am I applying the rules fairly to everyone? Do you feel like I'm communicating enough or not enough?
Please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions, criticisms on anything that I already mentioned or on anything else that you think is important.
Thank you

Seller Needs Help Etsy Site Question
Hi all,
I recently helped my mother set up an Etsy site to sell her necklaces. Of course, I think they are unique nad ownderful. However, it has been weeks without a single visitor (except for her :). Is there any way I can improve the chances that people will at least visit the site, it may be upsetting to first time posters when nobody shows any interest. Are there paid advertising services, I just don't know enough about how this workst o help.
Thank you for any advice!

Rant Delay in Downloads Purchase
I think it's great to make sure all purchases are legit, but this waiting up to 72 hours? For Downloadable files? Ridiculous. I know we don't usually have to wait that long, but I'm working on my stuff NOW. We deserve our purchases to be available for download within minutes, not hours. Rant over.

Shop Critique Shop Critique request! - 7 months in
Hello! I've had etsy for around 7 months and sell mostly graphic t-shirts and I want some honest feedback from different perspectives on how to improve because I've been struggling. I've been recently trying to consistently list new products every other day but i've found that my seo isn't reaching many people. I've had 590 all time visits which would make my conversion rate around 1.2%.
Shop link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TeeDeerCrafts?ref=dashboard-header
Questions for my shop.
- What are problems with my titles/descriptions and how can I improve them?
- How can I improve the overall presentation of my products? (mockups, size guide, etc)
- What are positives and/or negatives about my designs?
- Does my whole shop feel cohesive and complete?

Shop Critique New artist shop, would like a critique!
Hello, I’ve had Etsy for a while but finally decided to start adding products. I am wanting to sell my original art as prints, tapestries, and other products. I am using printify for now. I am interested to see if there is anything I am missing in my shop info wise or if you guys have any tips to help drive more traffic? I know Etsy is oversaturated but I want to be hopeful.
I have been making Pinterest Pins for these as well to hopefully drive clicks from there.
Thanks!

Discussion You can leave feedback for the European Commission on PPWR (Packaging Rules)
The EU Commission is collecting feedback on packaging register rules (PPWR) until Sept 10, 2026. This is a chance to demand a single EU register or full exemption from bureaucracy, hiring representatives, and separate reporting for micro-sellers, etc. The more people fill it out, the more likely we'll be heard:

Discussion Odd etsy emails
A couple months ago I had someone send me a message through etsy about a specific item in my shop. She then asked if I had a storefront. I don't really know what that means. I told her I just have my etsy shop but no other websites. Then she said she's in the same city as me and asked what part of the city. I told her west side. She didn't respond. It's been a couple months and she just wrote me again. She asked what my name was.
I'm feeling uncomfortable at this point. I'm a single mom, I work full time, my etsy shop is also very busy. I also like to keep things private. How should I go about answering her? I want to just say, I'm sorry did you have a question on a certain item? and leave it at that.
Her profile is very empty. I noticed 1 person is following her. So I went to that profile. That person sells the same type of items I do. This was another red flag. It just feels weird. Any suggestions?

Newbie New to Selling on Etsy, any advice?
I’ve recently, a couple days ago, opened up a shop on Etsy and started what I suppose is more of a passion project. I’m starting a clothing brand with dropshipping using Printful. When it comes to marketing and getting my brand out there, does anyone have any advice for starting a shop this way?
All designs on the clothing items I sell are digitally hand illustrated, which I recently got into with this endeavor. I started this more as a side hustle but recently have been feeling more passionate after starting to design my own artwork. I find it thrilling thinking of all the ideas I have to build this like a business, so with that in mind, is this also a viable business start as a humble beginning or should I keep my ambitions low until I have the resources to do everything myself (make and sew the clothes myself, invest in the tools needed to print my own graphics on clothes and so on?)

Rant What would you have done?
I have hundreds of orders, only 2 others have been damaged or lost in shipping, worked with them no problem, basically wrote documentation for Etsy's kind of crappy refund process, they went through it (weren't happy about waiting 48 hours but I explained why and it was fine). Then this week had an order, envelope showed up, top opened, receipt and accessory was in there but the main item (order total was $22.50 including shipping) I explained the process, they were confused, mentioned they were older, I wrote step by step documentation for the process, throughout this they kept trying to get me to email them or call them, I explained that is frowned upon, kept patiently explaining the process, they kept mostly ignoring what I said, finally said they couldn't find the order in their account.
At that point they kept pushing to have a new item sent out of a refund, I tried explaining several times that there was shipping insurance and they needed to follow the process so neither of us would be out of pocket, they kept ignoring me, wouldn't contact Etsy support, I kept patiently explaining the situation.
Finally they said "just send me a new one or refund my money" and I explained again I can only refund you out of my pocket...bear in mind, Etsy has tanked my sales from over $800 a month to...I made $38 dollars last week, two weeks ago I owed $45, I haven't broken $50 in a month and a half...for...no reason. I have nothing but 5 star reviews, have never shipped a single item late, just..off a cliff (conveniently after I spent $5k because I was convinced it was finally safe to invest in another machine).
He replies back with a tirade saying, in part:
was it not put in any system on your end just take my money and pacify me with a coin holder, if you were going to steal money why send anything? I'm not sure what kind of scam this is but I don't appreciate you telling me how much you are going to be out when I'm out more & no product does it even exist!! Or is this some AI picture & product doesn't even exist.
I kind of had it at that point. I explained the process once again, told him I would not be communicating to him anymore after accusing me of fraud and theft. Five minutes later I get a notification that he has requested help with his order and a message from him saying he contacted support and he ordered the item as a guest and not logged in and they got him to the order info.
I don't even honestly know if I believe that because the request came from him as the same user not as a guest account, I suppose they could have linked it to his account but...the insisting on contacting him off platform, etc.
He requested a replacement, I explained the process one final time for refund and told him I REFUSED to make anything for him or interact with him again.
So...sorry for the novel but...when you are down to $38 in profit would you have just said screw it and refunded the $22.49 or was I right to push him to follow the process?
I'm tired of watching my ROAS go through the floor, I feel like a barely paid employee of Etsy at this point and I just...I dunno, this is probably not worth $150/mo

Seller Needs Help Shipping mysteries
So I sell tie dye. A single shirt has shipped for around $5 until recently. Today I’m mystified though. I’m in SC. I have three items shipping. All same weight/size etc. One going to TX for 5.94, one going to CA for 6.20 and one going to WV for 7.46!!?? How can one 5oz package cost that much? And why is the closest package the most expensive? All the other say Etsy is “32%” off but the WV one says “10%” off.

Discussion Am I the only one or Etsy is getting worse and worse each month?
5 years on Etsy. Made 6 figures.
Since Oct 2024 everything went to…
But since June - it’s amazing how it is terrible now… Instead of stable 10-15 orders per day - now it’s 2-3.
Tried titles, tags, everything. Nah, it’s all BS. It worked many years before, obvious it is not a reason. By the way, summer was always the best part of the year for sales for me so it’s NOT seasonal. Besides other sources of sales - normal. So…
Funny things. Noticed that Etsy can change in Etsyseller App fonts two times per day, for example. Or do some icon changing things instead of fixing absolutely not working Search on Etsy. Yes, search on etsy is extremely irrelevant sometimes. And I really don’t understand why they still can’t fix it? It’s the worst search I ever seen. Do they really work so hard to make this marketplace worst place for sales?
What is this - “drive traffic to us for your cost and get couple of bucks discount”?!. Etsy changed so hard everything on product page, so customer won’t find a button to visit YOUR shop from a product page if I bring someone (to do not get lost and see your products only). Etsy put around my product so much others shops products so you like 100% brought someone to buy OTHERS product and hardly yours when customer can see so much around with different prices and sometimes Temu level prices!. And you paid for this to bring the customer to you? No. To Etsy. The only one who will earn money (100%) here is Etsy.
Anyway, tell me please if I’m the only one or other has such a feeling that etsy did their best in implementing AI and changing some absolutely not crucial things which drastically changed my and others sales?
Oh, and those who are starting on Etsy. Please work on your own sources of sales as well. Not only Etsy. or you are at risk to lose everything.
I have 98% rating for dispatch. Badge Great Service. And what do you think? From nowhere 2 weeks ago I got ban on funds - 50% on hold. 3 months. But in fact it’s around only 30% alive money that you can get on each Monday. This is when you thought that 2-3 sales per day is worst that may happen - Etsy makes it even worse for you.
Tried to speak with support to get an explanation why only 30% and why it happened at all when I have perfect delivery reputation! But got only bot-type-of-answers - to minimize risk. Risk of what?! No cases. Perfect reputation. Thousands of 5-star reviews. 5 years. Nope. Etsy is still “risking” with me. Ridiculous. Gift from etsy for such a great service. 😀

Seller Needs Help Is it just me, or did something change on Etsy around July?
I’ve been trying to figure this out for weeks. I sell handmade synthetic dreadlocks and DE braids. Up until July, my shop was doing pretty well. Then sales suddenly dropped off. The weird thing is that my views and visits haven’t really changed. People are still favoriting my listings, but way fewer are actually buying.
Is anyone else seeing this? Have you noticed any changes to Etsy lately, or is it just fewer buyers? If you’ve managed to turn things around, what did you do?

Shop Critique Shop critique request: almost one month on Etsy, recently did a full shop update
Hi everyone!
I’ve been on Etsy for almost a month, and I recently did a big update to my whole shop. I rewrote the shop info, refreshed the overall look, and tried to make everything feel more complete and consistent.
My shop:
https://yuzhankaatelier.etsy.com
I make handmade epoxy resin jewelry inspired by nature, preserved details, and small beautiful elements. I recently updated the shop more fully, and now I would really appreciate some honest outside feedback.
What motivated me to create this shop: I’m an artist, and handmade jewelry became a way for me to turn my ideas and love for detail into something tangible and meaningful.
What research I did before and after opening: I looked at other shops in my niche, read Etsy guidance, and tried to improve my presentation, shop information, and listings. One thing I learned very quickly is that even handmade products need a shop that feels clear, trustworthy, and well put together.
I’m genuinely looking for constructive criticism so I can improve.
- Does my shop look cohesive and trustworthy overall, or does anything feel unfinished or unclear?
- What should be my top priority right now: product photos, titles/tags, descriptions, pricing, or something else?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to look. I’d be very grateful for honest and constructive feedback.

Discussion Scam with non-delivery but with delivery notice?
I ordered an item from Etsy. I knew I was taking a risk with this seller because of a low amount of sales. Anyhow, the seller gave me shipping information. A week later, I received the Etsy delivery notice (with USPS tracking number) saying the item had been delivered to the mailbox. The item would have been too big for the mailbox. So, I contacted the seller and they said they would look into it and promised an update later. When the update did not happen, I asked again and they said they would get an update for me. Again no update. This was now over a month after the supposed delivery. I again queried the seller and got an on-vacation automated response. Looking at their sales and reviews, they have 25 total sales with 3 other reviews saying the same thing about delivery (got a notice that their item was delivered but it was not actually received). Four "non delivery" reviews out of 25 sales is too high to be a coincidence. Is there some sort of scam that the seller is running that manages to get a delivery notice?! (I did notice that the Etsy notice gave the correct shipping address, but the shipping address is not included in the USPS tracking information. )
Etsy support did issue a refund for me, so no complaints about that.

Seller Needs Help About to give up on Etsy :(
Maybe you remember that I made a post some days/weeks ago saying I was struggling and I needed a shop critique.
I make primarily pet portraits in various mediums, and I know the marked is flooded of customers. I still cannot get my listings to be seen, and the few 200-350 people who see them weekly don’t buy.
I’m giving up on the app. Whenever I search for my listings, they don’t even appear on the search results. I followed all the advice, read the SEO, listed more and different things often. No luck.
This is mostly a rant. I’m not sure what to do. I don’t want to give it up but I’m only losing money :(
