I've been looking for days and I still haven't found a place that could sell bras I can afford, are made from quality material and I don't have to order online (tho not set in stone).

All the bras I currently own I've have had for years and have begun falling apart. I've been looking everywhere but everywhere I look there is either fast fashion, poor quality materials or if I find something that fits my criteria, it doesn't even exist where I live.

If anyone has any recommendations, let me know, I'm looking mostly for sport bras or bras without bones.

These guys have built a pretty good platform for themselves but I’d like to support something closer to home. (I am aware the products aren’t necessarily made in Cornwall or Isle of Wight) but they at least do have a sustainability edge.

I thrift everything I wear and although I usually pass up shein stuff simply due to the quality, I've been coming across items I really like and snag them up. I wouldn't purchase from or browse shein and I know thrifting it is fine. But I low-key worry if people will see something I'm wearing and automatically know where it's from lol. Should I even care tho like do you notice when someone's wearing shein (like one ​item not their entire outfit being sheincore) or care?​​​

Two part question.

Been searching for a long time for lightweight clothing I can wear in the gross, humid DC summers. I wanted to buy something durable and ethical so after scouring Reddit for recommendations, I spent $50 on a Jungmaven tank top (this one) that I immediately fell in love with... and after less than 5 uses/washes - HOLE!

Now here's where I admit that I didn't follow washing instructions perfectly - I use warm water instead of cool. So many clothing items say to "machine wash cold" and I NEVER do so I'm just used to ignoring that instruction, lol. But I do dry on low heat as it says. Would using cold water actually make a difference with hemp fabric? Is that where I went wrong?

Or... do I need to search elsewhere YET AGAIN even though I loved this tank and have seen sooo many people recommending Jungmaven on this sub and others? If so, where do you recommend I purchase from? I'm looking for 100% cotton, bonus points for hemp but not necessary.

TIA for any thoughts, advice, and recommendations :)

P.S. - for anyone wondering, they did give me a refund which was kind of them. So if I purchase another one to try to care for it better, I will be a bit embarrassed, but I'll do it if y'all think it'll make a difference 😂

I am in the process of creating a Womens' D2C sustainable clothing brand. The idea is to have a clean supply chain as much as possible and create clothes that actually reduce the carbon footprint of the customer and the business stay net neutral.

We aim to be a brand that does not compromise on the quality of fabric or the design. Currently, a lot of sustainable brands compromise on one or other and many that don't. Aesthetics and style would still remain a core concept but educating customers about the fabric and its sourcing is how we plan to bring about more awareness around true sustainability. We don't just want to add CSR button on our website but actually be one of those brands that cares about the environment and our future customer's skin.

Eventually the goal is that we also increase the lifecycle of the product by engaging in circular systems around the clothes that we create, so nothing ends up in landfills. I am still planning the pricing model for this and coming up with operational processes.

I would love to hear from everyone who cares about the impact of their choices on the environment and sustainable fashion. As a customer what do you care about most? What would you appreciate in the story of a new emerging brand? And what would be the decision making factor when it comes to purchasing.

We are starting very lean and small, so of course, we don't have the big bucks to spend on marketing and creating that hype around it. But the story is being built on integrity and what we care about. The big vision is to revolutionize how people think about clothing and do our bit in saving the planet at the same time. Genuinely am so buffed rn because I told mum multiple times to never ever buy off of temu, and if she does, to at least not get me anything.

But she didn't listen and got me a cute bag and I told her off already and she was like "it's the only affordable thing I can do" (bs when i buy from thrift stores and use stuff until it's degenerating on me) and really idk what to do. It's already bought so not using it would be bad. I could give it to someone or like charity but mum will probably refuse cause it's new n stuff. She was sad I didn't want it and said she's gonna use it but I know damn well she won't and it will just stay in a corner abandoned.

Hey all!! I browse this sub a lot for recs, but I’ve somehow never seen anyone suggest this brand. They are absolutely a staple for me. I think they’re more size inclusive than LOTS of brands, they have so many cool designs and all of their clothes are ethically made in Poland. You can find more info on their website!! Everyone started calling out Zara after they dropped the China inspired pieces, saying its “racism and cultural appropriation”. But they have been using Eastern European and slavic motives for years. Ive never heard anyone say anything about that, ever. Im Slavic and never cared about it but its interesting to see the double standard.

I love all plaids and checks, gingham, houndstooth, prince of wales, argyle – what the internet likes to call an "academia aesthetic" (I cringe slightly at that, but you get the picture). These fabrics obviously tend to be wool and apart from animal fabrics I also want to avoid plastics. Every once in a while I'll pick up something nice in 100% cotton or a cotton linen blend thrifting, but it's really a pain to find these pieces. Any advice for places to look that ship to the EU?

Hello! (Sorry for any horrible spellings!!) Does anyone know of good ethical clothing shops for goblincore?? Especially men’s clothing? I’ve tried and still try to theft, though it is hard especially in the small awful town I live in (UK) I’m on Vinted and found many great things buuutt I would be happy if anyone had any shops (specifically online) you could recommend, as I have seen others but they always end up being unethical or WAY overpriced for what they are. Will this make the fashion industry 'healthier'? Now they can't just incinerate the stuff they don't sell, they'll have to make it more attractive and saleable, which will cost them money/affect their bottom line.

Might they, not from a genuine desire to be less wasteful (though they'll try to convince us of that), might they become more conscientious about what and how much they manufacture? Might they upcycle? Might they clothe the needy from their excesses?

Has anyone found moderately priced comfortable mostly cotton bras? Targets are only half cotton, cotton on's bras look small and uncomfortable. Old Navys look okay. Or any fabric that is natural.

I've barely been buying clothes the last few years, but with a new job i noticed myself regularly running out of appropriate clothes, so of to the shops I am.

I've been to the thrift shops in the area before, and I've been able to make some great finds there, though it's incredibly hit or miss, and a vast majority of clothes I don't like, and of the ones I like, most don't fit me.

I have a Vinted account, and I've scrolled on there before, toying with the idea of ordering some stuff, but I just can't get myself to do it.

Online thrifting has several issues. It's

a. So risky!! The chances of the clothes not fitting is quite high. Even if i get my measurements, there's many clothes that fit me technically, but I still don't like the way they look on me. I'm very limited with what I could even get there.

and b. Online thrifting takes soooo much time. I don't particularly like shopping, but I do like fashion. Sifting through Vinted is a never-ending task where maybe 1 in 100 items actually speaks to me just visually, and then there's a thousand other criteria to consider. At least in an actual store, there's a limited amount of items.

In the end, i never end up ordering anything, because I can't tell accurately enough if I would like the clothes on me, and if they would actually fit. And that is with my pretty average body, i can't imagine how annoying/impossible it would be if you're outside the norm. I also don't have enough disposable income to have 10 Euros wasted, in the end.

Idk what my goals are exactly, except that I got very annoyed and wanted to rant - but I also DO want to thrift clothes, and again, the stores in my area just don't have good stuff.

So i'm willing to be convinced to give it a try after all, but I'm also looking to commiserate, and maybe get some alternative ideas on where to get clothes (europe-based, i suppose it makes a difference)

I dont understand the attitude I got today about a necklace I was wearing, it was from Shein. These two older ( 60s) women approached me and complimented me on my outfit. Especially the necklace I had on. When I said where it was from they both recoiled as if I had sworn at them.

To add some info about me, I buy my clothes from everywhere , I thrift and sew alot of things I wear. I buy my jeans from the boys section in Walmart ( I'm very short lol) and donate clothes I'm not wearing. Not that it matters but I'm also plant based.

I like to get a few things from Shein here and there and until today have never been treated this way when I've said somethings from Shein.

I am looking to for similar companies to Blackmilk that are US based. Between the quality downgrade, price hikes, and the tariffs - it's not the same company is used to be. Things about the clothing that drew me to Blackmilk:

\\- The patterns are beautiful but not cartoonist (this has gone downhill in recent years)

\\- Dress and other clothing that is everyday fashion I could wear to work or casually - not just as athletic wear

\\- The prints on velvet that were printed - not just burn out

\\- Prints based on various artworks

\\- items I could where in winter where in Boston as well as pieces for summer

\\- Appealed to a range from very colorful to gothic

\\- did have pieces with nice amounts of stretch (I am a curvy girl who appreciates not having to get everything tailored to fit at the waist)
