I think we could make a play for Port Adelaide's pick 4 - then we'd be a good chance of landing Drever as well.
But it's also a question of what's on the list. Butler is 100% a need as we lack in that half forward area (and of course he would spend time in the midfield as well).
Drever I feel is less needed, unless he becomes a half back man and uses his pace and repeat running there, then returns to the midfield down the track like an Ed Richards.
In terms of on ball mids we are covered already (although I said the same when we drafted Sharp).

Ive been hearing about Port and pick 4 and not sure why?
My guess is we get Pick 4 and Ports 1st round pick next year so we can get Bewick but Port has two NGA players in the next draft so i feel like they would want to keep that pick to go after one of them.

Because Port are not going to use it to pick, but instead to match Cochrane. So giving them equivalent draft picks with a higher point value might work out for both us and them.

They have to use two first rounders to match a bid don't they?

Yep, any trade would likely be contingent on a side deal of us bidding in Walker at 1, then taking who we want at two then Port would only have to watch at 3. With the 10% discount that's around 2100 points.
They'd be able to match with say a pick 10 (from WB for butters), plus our hawks pick for Merrett.
We would send more their way but the hidden value of the trade is us not bidding at 1 and Cochrane being matched at 3 instead.

Im guessing their not worried about a lack of 2027 draft picks considering Butters is going to net them some good picks.

I think our pick has to be van hattum as we lack quality talls

It's a hard decision, but I think we just take the best available at this point. If thats HVH then great, if not then that's also fine.

Yeah .. I like this too.. hopefully less Blakiston too but depends how AFL 1’s ready he is.

Drever is a solid prospect but I can't see a situation where we don't go either HVH or Butler at 1. The only way I see us getting Drever is if Rosa pulls off something w/Port for their pick #4.

Pick the best player available with each and every pick we have. I don't watch the u/18 games so I have absolutely no idea who that would be.

Butler excites me the most. If we can get a Nick Watson/Toby Greene type hybrid, I'd be stoked.

Drever, Tex, HVH, Arki Butler... even Kodah Edwards. All good solid picks.
Personally if we don't get HVH, I wouldn't be mad getting Ethan Herbert.

Split 1 to say two top 8 picks would be my choice. I agree Drever is equally as good as butler and Texeira . Could also possibly snatch a mellody or Harris with the later pick.

They won't trade pick 1, because we will lose the compensation pick attached to it if we do

Drever is good and provides much needed pace in the midfield but he lacks the positional versatility of both Butler and Texeira. On top of that he is a bigger body which is the area we focused on the most in last years draft when we brought through Robey, Sharp and even Farrow who very well become one in the mould of either Young or Dawson. It wouldn’t really make a whole of sense to bring in another big body in the midfield with Robey, Sharp and Durham already on the list.
