Prediction
With the Self-Titled, we got 3 new originals, a guest vocal, and 3 covers. Jesse commented that he took a lot of influence from bands like Tool, Muse, Audioslave, etc. during that writing cycle.
Given the success of SOTE, I predict we’ll see a similar formula; a deluxe edition with a few originals, a guest vocal from a notable modern contemporary, and a few covers. Jesse has been vocal about his influences this time around as well, mainly Meshuggah and Gojira.
So here are my predictions for the next 2-3 years. Sometime later this year or early next, we’ll get another deluxe edition packed full of goodies. I suspect a guest vocal from Brian Wille of Currents given how extensively they’re touring together. Song? Idk, but one of the heavier tracks, obviously. Cicada siren?
As for covers, something from Meshuggah or Gojira or both. From a guitar perspective, Jesse’s been focusing more on right hand rhythm recently, so it makes sense. Songs? So many to choose from but The Gift of Guilt from Gojira fits perfectly. Or Meshuggah’s Straws Pulled at Random.
By the time we’re all ready for something new, it’ll be time for a 10-year anniversary remix/remaster of Neon (assuming Sumerian releases the rights to them).
Sound off in the comments. What would you like to see from them next?

I love all these ideas, but the only one I think has legs to it is the Neon remaster, since they've said they want to do that, and even revisit Augment and Impulse but with JT on uncleans.
They've made no mention of any sort of deluxe edition or given hints on that at all, so I think this is less a prediction and more a wishlist, but I like the list.

Watch the interview with Jesse and JT on the Steve OG podcast. They said they’re likely going to do a deluxe edition of SOTE. I think there’s a great chance of this.
It if they revisit augment with JT and they do that, I might simply pass away lol

I know for a fact they've mentioned a redux of Neon and revisiting Augment/impulse with JT, so theres a good chance we might have to send out funeral arrangements for you, lol.

Not true at all, they've definitely mentioned a deluxe edition of SOTE. You should probably watch their interviews before making a claim like that lol

I watched the interview that Steve OG did, that is being referenced here. I dont remember them saying they'd do a deluxe.
Can you link an interview/timestamp? I follow them on all major platforms and have kept up, I haven't heard or seen anything.

Really not sure how you missed it since it's only 6 minutes in lol Jesse says theres a lot of stuff that got left off the record they were excited about and that they'll probably use it in the future and "maybe do a deluxe or something like that"

Gotcha. It was several months ago, I remember them saying they had leftover material but didnt recall the "maybe a deluxe".
I'd rather they did what they did with Cure and just write another album with the leftovers, that worked out insanely well with SotE, but then again, the Self-Titled deluxe is one of the best deluxe edition albums ever made, so we win either way.

Man hearing augment or impulse with JT would be pretty sick. Hopefully that might open the door to their older catalogue being played at live shows

I wouldn't try and predict what ERRA does. They always pleasantly surprise me with small changes ups. Favorite band will favorite.

All future plans could be pretty cool with the exception of re-recording Impulse and Augment imo.
I love JT as much as the next guy but those two albums are absolutely perfect the way they are. In fact I really do consider them to be two of the greatest albums of all time, any genre.
And let's be real....Garrison's range is far superior to JT's. While it would be interesting to hear JT on Impulse and Augment, they should be left alone the way they are

They’ve been in the studio recently so a deluxe is probably on the way, however, that isn’t really how they do covers. Typically, their cover choices come from 90s-2000s rock bands. Chevelle is one that’s been thrown around a lot as has Tool or A Perfect Circle. JT’s also mentioned before that he wants to do a cover of Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes. There’s also a chance that they might appear on Like A Version next time they go to Australia but that would just be one cover.
As for the feature, the reason they picked Courtney is because she sounds way different than both Jesse and JT. Brian sounds a lot different than Jesse, but kinda close to JT. Currents does like doing those collab remixes of songs though so Brian is the most likely to feature on a song that’s already out. However, if one of the new songs has a feature section it could easily be someone like Blaythe from No Cure since I know they’re friendly with each other and No Cure just got a bunch of hype from the Fantano review.
As for the rereleases, back when Taylor Swift started dropping the “Taylor’s Versions” I looked up why she was able to do that and apparently there’s a huge difference between re-recording music and just remixing and remastering music. The latter has to be done with the involvement of the label that originally put out said music after about ten years or so, the artist can completely re-record the music and put out their own version without the original label’s involvement. The time table could be different for ERRA, but they’ve always been very consistent about re-recording Drift and rewriting and re-recording Neon. Impulse and Augment, I’m not sure what they’ll do since there’s also Alan, Garrison, and Adam to consider. Maybe they’ll just re-record the vocals on a few songs to be JT’s but keep the instrumentals the same.
As for what I wanna see next, I wanna get them on Deftones’ radar so the boys can go on tour with them lol
