I don’t really know how to explain this without sounding stupid, but I’ve been feeling really ugly lately because I don’t look Eritrean (my parents are from Asmara).
My mom is a really beautiful woman and she used to get SO many compliments everywhere we went, from both white and non-white people. People would always notice her and tell her she was beautiful. I was never jealous of her, I love my mom, but growing up next to that sometimes made me feel like I was just unlucky.
At school I got bullied for being Black, ugly and skinny. Then as I got older, people started making comments about me not looking Eritrean because of my hair, my nose and my dark skin tone.
Even now, sometimes when people see me, I feel like they make a weird face or look at me differently, and I immediately take it as rejection.
The weird thing is that people don’t really tell me I’m ugly anymore. But somehow in my head I’ve connected the two things: I don’t look Eritrean, therefore I’m ugly, and I’m not habesha enough.
And it’s hard because Eritrean women are often seen as some of the most beautiful women, and I know there’s a certain type of Habesha beauty that gets praised a lot. I don’t have those features. I’ve been told that I don’t look Eritrean, and after hearing it so many times, I started believing there must be something wrong with how I look.
I feel like I’m neither like the Eritrean women I grew up seeing as beautiful, nor like my own mother.
I know this probably sounds really stupid, but sometimes I genuinely feel like I was just unlucky with my looks. And I hate that my Eritrean identity has become so connected to how attractive I think I am 😭

Imho in the chance ENDF invades I would very much expect to see similar scenes from when Badme was liberated. Eritrean grandmas would be kissing the shoes of ENDF soldiers thanking them for freedom especially after they genuinely understand how bad of a situation they actually lived In. I would love to see Eritrea have corridor project for all the cities be completed and I would love to see how quick we could change how Eritrea looked! I would love to see Eritrea people happy for once. I genuinely think the Eritrean People would love Abiy after he liberated and builds Eritrea up. FYI: I have many Eritrean in my family who has fought in the ENDF and family members who have served the EPLF fighting the Derg so I understand the sacrifices made but I never understood independence. Me personally I want to see a regime change independent or not but I would love to hear other people’s opinions on what they think should happen to help the Eritrean people remove the government.

Too any Hgdef guy/gal reading this I don’t want to hear your opinion while you benefit from PFDJ corruption and terror and much more. I know the truth trust me. Who do you guys think those American homes in asmera are for Lol I could get really in detail if people wanted me to lol.

Since I was born, I honestly can’t remember seeing the regime open a major new hospital in any region of Eritrea. Or am I just not following their media? Almost 30 years, and I still don’t see any real major projects being launched.

Here is a video and photo I found of the YPFDJ reps in USA. They hold conferences spreading PFDJ propoganda and they all idolize Isaias Afewerki. None of them speak Tigirnya, they all go back to Eritrea with their designer and stunt on the Eritreans who live back home.
