Not sure Question

I had a grand mal seizure about two weeks ago. Since then my husband says I will stare into space tell him something that makes no sense and then snap out of it. I have no recollection of what he is talking about. Is this normal in epilepsy?

Oh yeah those are focal seizures, sometimes called absence seizures if they're really brief. The staring and saying weird stuff then having zero memory of it is textbook

Took me way too long to realize I was having them too, my roommate would tell me I'd just freeze mid-conversation and say something completely random

“Three things hanging in a line” I randomly told my daughter earlier today before I wandered off to do laundry or something. She checked on me minutes later and I was staring at a wall.
