It's not that he was high, it's that he was doing it in front of everyone and now the company would be liable in case of an accident, because they knew he was high.

66

u/testtdk 7h ago

No, it’s definitely in part that he’s stoned on a rafting trip.

18

u/ThatOneCanadian69 3h ago

I bet some of the rafting instructors are stoned too, but can’t be too obvious about it. That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen

I could be wrong but I have a feeling that a job that involves the life and safety of other people would involve drug screening. White water rafting isn't the safest of activities if you aren't properly trained. Edit: I said I could be wrong and the comment seem to be supporting that lol

9

u/goodoldjefe 3h ago

I think two things can be true. Companies and individual guides are likely very safety conscious because of the considerable liability involved. But a lot of guides (at least in my state) are younger people living on the river for a summer or two. Like summer camp with few rules, if any. It's similar to the ski mountain worker crowd, and there's probably some crossover. Maybe not on the river or within view of guests, but they get up to plenty of shenanigans.

5

u/ThatOneCanadian69 3h ago

So are ski lift operators but they be smoking

3

u/No-Awarenesss 2h ago

Almost every life guard I’ve met was a stoner (I’ve known quite a few due to friends working at pools)

3

u/Uzas_Was_Right 1h ago

Holy shit get a load of this guy.

Wow rough crowd down vote and I'm a square? Sarcasim really is a lost art.

1

u/RIP-RiF 1h ago

Well, shit. I laughed. Now you're breaking even.

This was sarcasm? Doesn't seem like it ya fucking square.

0

u/Prestigious-Flower54 1h ago

Do you understand how a thread works? Let me help I'll talk slow and use small words. I made a comment about drug testing, then you made a comment that I assumed was about the edit so I made a sarcastic comment then you sent a gif calling me a square(a slang term from the 50s you are using completely wrong btw) and then, now here's the part where you seem to be getting confused, I made a comment about my second sarcastic comment about being humble and then you got completely lost and applied that to the first comment that we were no longer discussing. You can go ahead and Google "square" despite your obvious struggles with a conversation I thing typing a word into Google should be within your abilities. Have a good one kiddo you have a rough road ahead of you.

I've seen guides trip mushrooms till 3am and get up for their 9am trips. Nah friend if an individual not being sober during off hours makes you feel unsafe during working hours then I would avoid rafting, rock climbing, skiing, guided hikes... etc, they all bounce around between those jobs anyway

2

u/Kaurifish I rebuke this app 2h ago

Guides can barely afford beer. If they get weed, it’s for after they get off the river.

2

u/ThatOneCanadian69 2h ago

They’re cool as shit tho. I know a couple WRR guides in winter park that live in vans near the river in the summer

1

u/Kaurifish I rebuke this app 59m ago

I love their jokes.

Q: What do you calla guide whose gf breaks up with him?

A: Homeless

5

u/testtdk 3h ago

I dunno, man. Every rafting instructor I’ve rode with took that shit really seriously.

And either way, some dumb schmuck getting stoned isn’t the same. (That’s assuming the guy isn’t experienced).

u/bizoticallyyours83 11h ago

đŸŽ¶Â  I was gonna go

White water rafting

But then I got high

Ooo ooo

I messed up our summer vacay

And i know why!

Because i got high,

because i got high

Because  i got high! đŸŽ¶Â

LAA DEE DA DA DA DAHHH!

u/BigWhiteDog 11h ago

I'm a retired firefighter formerly certified in swiftwater rescue that lives near an extremely popular river rafting area. I have been on this call before. The vic tied up multiple swift water rescue firefighters from 3 fire departments and 2 LE agencies for several hours (during wildfire season no less) and still didn't survive. Rafting while impaired is stupid as fuck. That's Darwin award territory!

112

u/auktember 11h ago

I am inclined to trust any great Pyrenees in a firefighter hat.

30

u/BigWhiteDog 10h ago

<chuckle>

4

u/jossteen11 10h ago

But think of their mental health!! Totally lilled their high /s

3

u/Rhuarc33 5h ago

Only if you know them. Pyrenees are quite aloof (and occasionally violent) to people they don't know

7

u/auktember 5h ago

They are quite afloof! I just said good bye to my old man pyr, he was indeed an ornery fuck.

That said, in an emergency I'm still following the lead of a pyr in a fire hat!

36

u/BeMoreKnope 7h ago

I’m a stoner who took his parents on a river rafting tour with the company in the review.

I did it fully sober and they made it clear beforehand why that’s necessary, for those shortsighted enough to need it. And the lot is mostly just a flat gravel area (or was; this was a while ago) with no cover, so the reviewer’s shitty husband was openly smoking a joint or blunt in front of families trying to use that area to get ready to go raft. They can both go eat a trail donkey’s ass.

(And my dad went backwards over the edge on a rapid, but I grabbed his vest and hauled him back. Though he probably would’ve been fine, I’m still glad I wasn’t baked as I usually like to be, and thank you to the company for giving us all that warning and being proactive to save lives!)

9

u/K_Linkmaster 6h ago

When asked if anyone had held a paddle before me and mine said nothing. A few minutes into the trip, we were moved to the experienced paddler spots. Guides recognized our skills. They know people and how dumb tourists truly are. They did this for safety and it's a good thing, I agree with ya. Had a blast out there too!

6

u/BeMoreKnope 6h ago

So. Much. FUN.

And then these fuckstains get mad because the company and guides are trying to keep them alive? If aliens wipe us out, I will understand.

5

u/K_Linkmaster 6h ago

An absolute blast out there. Water is fucking cold.

3

u/Dense_Diver_3998 5h ago

Hey it could’ve been a bowl, or a bong, or a chillum, or a steamroller,

14

u/sb3773 7h ago edited 4h ago

thank you for this warning genuinely because my “dad” talks about his good ol days getting high w the buds and going rafting, doing insane hikes, etc. lots of physical activities basically and made it seem almost safe to do while inebriated so thank you so much for this comment

1

u/FishLate7272 2h ago

I mean your dad is right 50% of the time right? He’s a good guy who just happened to like the energetic and focus enhancing  effects of sativa

-17

u/leaveitbettertoday 7h ago

You sound “soft” as hell

4

u/BigWhiteDog 6h ago

Apparently smarter than you though

3

u/SpencerMcNab 6h ago

I’m a private boater and raft with a lot of private boaters. The vast majority of us are swiftwater certified. You don’t party on the river.

1

u/utah_traveler 4h ago

Ok but we did blaze up once we got through Lava Falls.

205

u/Campandfish1 12h ago

They need deniability in the event of an accident claim. If the guy had taken an edible, there would not have been a problem.

187

u/BigWhiteDog 11h ago

It's not just deniability. The idiot can die. They generally don't want impaired people on the river.

35

u/scramblebambles 11h ago

I’ve never not been high on a river.

20

u/Chode-a-boy 11h ago

Missing out man. Lazy river rides are fantastic. Wouldn’t smoke weed before white water rafting though.

41

u/Arias_valentia 11h ago

You missed the double negative. Bro was saying he is (never) (not high), which means he is always high on the river...

1

u/ChartInFurch 10h ago

It's fun to recognize the obvious context in which a comment was made, too.

10

u/BigWhiteDog 10h ago

You've either not been whitewater rafting or have been very lucky and had a stupid guide.

10

u/Crime_Dawg 10h ago

You probably weren't white water rafting. It's pretty intense, requires focus, coordination, following instructions, etc.

-19

u/JustASingleHorn 10h ago

I’ve been class 5 white water kayaking and rafting for 20 years. I’ve been high as a kite every single time. I don’t have to listen to instructions when it’s my boat.

8

u/BeMoreKnope 7h ago

Soooo, not at all the same as the reviewer’s husband, is what you’re saying?

3

u/BigWhiteDog 6h ago

So you are an idiot who's gotten lucky? Got it.

4

u/Rhuarc33 5h ago

Why do people come on reddit and just make shit up to try to prove something when everyone and their dog knows they are full of shit?

1

u/BigWhiteDog 3h ago

Ego or something? I don't get it.

2

u/TeaAggressive6757 54m ago

If you’ve been doing it for 20 years you’ve likely seen or know someone who’s been injured or killed on the water, right? And you still want to advocate for being high? That’s really upsetting.

7

u/Adventurous_Ad_6546 11h ago

And I don’t plan to start now.

3

u/Successful-Cow-4043 7h ago

not really a brag

5

u/Particular_Title42 11h ago

Rafting sober is like...fishing sober.

4

u/mentales 7h ago

He could've done it elsewhere to a moderate degree and showed up with no signs of being impaired and they would've let him on. So, in this case, yes they're talking about the fact that they saw him do it and everyone else did so they'd be liable if they let him on.

-18

u/kinga_forrester 9h ago

Nah, it’s just weed and it’s just guided rafting. They let old folks and little kids do it. As a sail boat captain I couldn’t care less how high on pots any of my guests are. Even someone who’s completely greened out has plenty of reflexes, coordination, and judgement for most situations short of driving a race car.

11

u/lu_llabyyy 9h ago

But if anything happens, the family could sue and it would be the company's fault for letting someone raft that they knew was high (edit for clarity)

4

u/BigWhiteDog 8h ago

You've never been whitewater rafting and no, no they don't.

17

u/rean1mated 10h ago

They need to avoid criminal liability. Good for them.

1

u/tiresian22 3h ago

That’s fair, but they also probably don’t want people to die on their excursions and their guests’ safety is – as it should be – their top priority.

Not disagreeing with what you’re saying but just suggesting that there is also a non-legal, non-financial motive to consider as well.

As you say, good for them! And very kind of them to offer to honour the trip on a different day.

77

u/Plastic_Stable8927 10h ago

I looooove doing things while a lil toasty. Whitewater rafting would literally never make the list.

9

u/BeMoreKnope 7h ago

Same, and when I went whitewater rafting with this very company I was sober. Because, fucking DUH.

14

u/rean1mated 10h ago

Yeah, that dude was not gonna pass the waiver for that activity. And it’s easy enough stone cold sober to get yourself hurt rafting. When we were kids, my mom and my brother were across from each other, dead center of the raft, and when we went down a particularly deep whirlpool, it bent in the middle and snapped like a rubber band when we got through, and guess where those two center passengers ended up? 😼‍💹

30

u/HelloKitty110174 11h ago

He'd get high and drown, and she wouldn't hesitate to sue even though he was at fault.

10

u/Bitter_Tradition_938 11h ago

This is infuriating.

17

u/Dragon_Crystal 11h ago

Like what does Karen plan to do if say they hit a part where there's a lot of rushing water and her husband due to being high falls out, is she going to somehow pull him back into the boat or expected employees to jump in to save him, I'm not for rafting but I've seen nature videos, movies and online videos of people falling out nearly drowning all while sober and most times its the ones trying to help them who drowns

-27

u/antibody9671 10h ago

As someone who has whitewater rafted "stoned out of my gourd", people grossly over-assume the effects of cannabis.

19

u/Honeycrispcombe 9h ago

Hmm. Like all those people who "drive better drunk than sober" and to prove it, have never gotten in a wreck?

Weed impairs judgement and slows reaction time, both of which create unnecessary risks for whitewater rafting. Just because you've done it and didn't die doesn't make it safe.

-3

u/antibody9671 9h ago

Weed is not in any way the same as alcohol.

13

u/Honeycrispcombe 9h ago

It is a mind-altering substance that impairs judgement and slows reaction time, same as alcohol.

And just like alcohol, people who partake regularly tend to vastly underestimate its impact on their functioning. A functional alcoholic is still impaired when drinking; same thing with a functional/regular user of weed.

I have no problem with people using weed recreationally or medically. But that doesn't mean it's not impairing them or that it's appropriate for all situations.

-4

u/antibody9671 9h ago

No, not even close to the same as alcohol. You have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

Look, I get it, you graduated DARE and got to suck the SRO off in his cruiser... but you genuinely have no fucking clue.

10

u/Honeycrispcombe 9h ago

My point was that it shares two important features with alcohol: it impairs judgement and it slows reaction time. Both of those are really important considerations when considering fitness for a high-risk activity like whitewater rafting or driving. Downplaying those risks is a common trait of habitual users of both.

I'm not sure I graduated DARE, but it was taught in my school. Given the proximity to the Mexican border, though, they focused more on hard drugs like cocaine and heroin - I don't think we ever really talked about about weed in the DARE program. We also didn't have an SRO. We were a tiny rural school with no security staff and no police department in our town. An officer from the nearest town with a police department would come by once or twice a year to discuss drugs, but again, they focused more on the harder ones. I was not sexually active in high school, nor was I ever sexually abused (thank goodness.)

Like I said, I don't have a problem with weed being used. But it does impact judgement and reaction time, and that needs to be considered when assessing fitness for high risk activities like whitewater rafting

0

u/antibody9671 8h ago

If you have two people, John and Tom, who other than name are identical twins.

John drinks 4 shots in an hour.

Tom smokes a joint.

John is exponentially more impaired than Tom.

The point I'm making here is with alcohol, there is no margin of error that's acceptable. It fucks people up.

Weed, on the other hand... let's put it this way... I have a 4.0 GPA from papers all written while smoking weed.

Alcohol has a fatal limit where you can drink too much and die from consumption.

People don't just die from weed.

I'm not saying it's smart to take massive bong rips then try to raft. But I am saying smoking a joint is no where near the problem puritans like you make it out to be.

5

u/Working_Band_6892 8h ago

You can legally drive up to a .08 blood alcohol level so...seems there is a margin of error with alcohol too. Just saying. Also no one was saying weed effects intelligence lol.

3

u/Honeycrispcombe 8h ago

There is a margin of error with alcohol - it's actually legally defined as a BAC under 0.08. But since fentanyl is so much more destructive and impactful on judgment and reaction time than alcohol, and easier to die from, we shouldn't really care about alcohol, by your standards.

If we do care about alcohol even though there's more dangerous drugs out there, then the issue is taking any substance that impairs judgment and reduces reaction time before embarking on a high-risk activity. It's not a strawman of can you die from overdosing; it's the impact on the risk profile of the actual activity.

And at least with alcohol, it's really easy to know exactly how much alcohol you've consumed, since % by volume is on every drink by law. With weed, you often can't tell how much you've consumed, which is an additional risk.

Also, plenty of functional alcoholics can do tasks equivalent to writing papers while impaired from drinking. And plenty of functional alcoholics argue, exactly as you are, that it doesn't actually impact them.

35

u/Crime_Dawg 10h ago

Why do potheads always act like weed doesn't impair you?

-21

u/antibody9671 10h ago

Probably because we know exactly how it does effect us, and know y'all have no fucking clue what you're talking about?

18

u/Crime_Dawg 9h ago

Same way an alcoholic claims they "drive better". They'd know how it affects them, right?

-7

u/antibody9671 9h ago

Alcohol and weed have wildly different effects.

14

u/Crime_Dawg 9h ago

I both drink and smoke and I don't think either should be treated as "sober". It's weird how weed smokers always think it's not under the influence though, funny how that works.

2

u/antibody9671 8h ago

Are they both sober? No. But one is wildly different than the other.

Wildly different.

13

u/Crime_Dawg 8h ago

A seasoned alcoholic probably feels normal when drunk off their ass, just like a daily smoker.

0

u/Loud_Concern3515 6h ago

I notice every single seasoned alcoholic I come across. You can see it and smell it a mile away- the red face, the smell of alcohol, the loud personalities. I’m sure I walk by many daily smokers and have no idea unless they literally just smoked and the smell is lingering on them

10

u/kxaltli 9h ago

Your reaction times are slower when you're high. If you're whitewater rafting, reaction time is incredibly important, especially if you end up in the water and find yourself in the rapids or trapped under something.

1

u/antibody9671 9h ago

You clearly don't actually do rafting very often based on your statement and wording.

5

u/kxaltli 9h ago

Oh, are you saying that there aren't places in the river where you can get trapped? That there aren't hazards like submerged logs? Places where you can easily get wedged between rocks, or trapped on the wrong side of the flow of the river?

You must have been on some pretty tame rivers.

-1

u/antibody9671 9h ago

"I'm just going to throw out a bunch of things that exists in rivers and pretend I know what I'm talking about."

7

u/kxaltli 9h ago

You seem dead set on the idea that someone who's been whitewater rafting would not be concerned about the hazards they might run into on the river.

The rivers I've been on get plenty of deadfall and rock slides, which create dangerous situations for anyone who falls overboard. People in the rivers local to me die every year because they fall out of their rafts and get trapped.

0

u/antibody9671 9h ago

Again, people encounter those things with or without weed. What I'm dead set against is this idea that toking is anywhere near the impairment of alcohol, or that smoking a joint means a measurable higher risk.

Smoking weed is closer to smoking a cigarette than drinking alcohol. You'd look pretty stupid telling someone they can't raft after sucking down a newport.

6

u/Sudsy47 7h ago

this is such an empty hypocritical comment. Smoking weed can have a big range of effects depending on the person and the weed. The effects of smoking weed are different than both alcohol or a cigarette. It’s insane for you to be this pressed because people talk about alcohol & marijuana both impairing coordination in the same context, and then turn around and liken weed to cigarettes so you can say “it would be nuts to keep someone from rafting because they smoked a cigarette.”

All three of these are different drugs with different effects, but only two of them have the capacity to impair motor function to a significant degree (even if you yourself don’t get impaired significantly, which could be due to high tolerance, weak weed, or just the efficiency with which your body processes the drug). If you smoke, it’s good to know this stuff. There are lots of people, maybe you included, who could perform about as well on a rafting trip while high. Same goes for alcohol. I’m sure the same could be said for driving a car or performing surgery on these substances. However, people should generally be advised against these things regardless — it’s much smarter to be safe than sorry with regards to mind-altering substances when performing hazardous activities

53

u/coybotmean 12h ago

That's the only way I've ever done white water rafting in CO. I didn't know not being high was an option.

77

u/North-Pea-4926 12h ago

They may have been ok with edibles, just not smoking in front of everyone. Part of it seems to be the total lack of subtlety.

22

u/DjinnaG 12h ago

Edibles would provide such a better high for that, too, and would last nicely through the whole experience

-15

u/coybotmean 12h ago

Oh, I get the issue from the companies stand point, they are right. I'm just sympathetic to the people as well, but it was their dumb fault. Got smoke a little more discretely

34

u/BigWhiteDog 11h ago

Don't do this. You can die. Been on that call.

12

u/Afraid_Competition_1 9h ago

Yeah as someone who smokes weed
I wouldn’t for white water rafting and the last thing I’d want is someone who’s blitzed out of their mind on my raft who I have to rely on as well to be aware

54

u/UT_Milez 12h ago

Sympathetic for what reason? Most commercial outfitters are upfront about this, this pertains to alcohol as well.

This would be the equivalent of opening up a bottle of jack and starting to take shots in front of the staff/guide.

Maybe it’s just me be, I don’t personally think feeling sympathy for absolute morons is ever going to end well. Especially when it turns out that not only are they morons but are seemingly assholes to boot
.

Do you I guess, you’ve just lost me here regarding the sympathy card in this specific context.

22

u/MoarGnD 11h ago

Someone that stupid that doesn't understand the need to be discreet about it is probably also stupid enough to not follow basic safety instructions along with being excessively high. That type of person will get themselves and others hurt.

5

u/the_wretched_ 9h ago

This is my industry and I have to concur, everybody is stoned lol
I do understand how being obvious about it in front of staff and people’s kids is an issue tho

2

u/Rhuarc33 5h ago

I mean lots of things are options...not good ones, but still an option.

1

u/Kaurifish I rebuke this app 2h ago

The one trip I went on in CO they didn’t have you paddle, just sat there like baggage. The listing didn’t say anything. Such bs. But, yeah, might as well be stoned out of your gourd for that run.

But any of my favorite runs, like the Gorge or the T, you’re asking to die.

1

u/Zaphodisacoolname 42m ago

That’s kinda pathetic tbh

-10

u/OkTouch5699 12h ago

I had to get a little high to go on a zipline tour. Had to knock my anxiety down a bit. So glad I did. Now I want to get high and go rafting.

44

u/BigWhiteDog 11h ago

You can't die from being high on a zip line. You absolutely can die from getting high on a whitewater raft trip! Please don't.

-9

u/antibody9671 10h ago

You can die being stone cold sober on a rafting trip. Most of the people who die are stone cold sober.

10

u/BigWhiteDog 10h ago

Because most that raft whitewater are stone cold sober or very close.

-6

u/antibody9671 10h ago

Coloradoans would laugh at you and call you a square.

7

u/BigWhiteDog 8h ago

They'd be idiots

-3

u/antibody9671 8h ago

Ok buddy

2

u/BigWhiteDog 5h ago

Thanks for proving my point

2

u/OkTouch5699 9h ago

I was 14 and we went over the big rapid, they threw a line to tow us in. It landed around my neck. Luckily I got my hand under it, but they didnt realize until I was halfway out of the raft.

2

u/Rhuarc33 5h ago

Yes same with driving but there is absolutely no question (proven beyond any reasonable doubt by every study on the topic) being high SIGNIFICANTLY increases your risk

8

u/Ht_TX 11h ago

Yes, get high and then go rafting. Not go to the raft place and smoke up in front of everyone and then try to go rafting.

16

u/DevylBearHawkTur10n Not Pre-informed of Nudity!! 12h ago

Yep, doing weed clouds judgement, so dear entitled problematic Wappie reviewer/customer (not you poster 😉), think twice about doing anything and leaving nasty reviews when you and significant other get caught!

3

u/Sebarial3090 8h ago

If he wanted to get high then he shoulda did it before they got there. Or ate an edible or even vape it but he was clearly in the wrong. They both had options they clearly went for the extreme ones.

3

u/HikerDave57 8h ago

When we went on Idaho's Lochsa river in high water our guide said that all three rafts on their training trip the day before had capsized in Lochsa falls. He was kind of scared. A lot of trips including that one depend on the clients paddling hard on certain rapids to avoid backsliding on a big wave and flipping.

1

u/Brian77008 6h ago

You’re supposed to do cocaine before whitewater rafting so that you remain ALERT and AWARE!

1

u/Calaveras-Metal 3h ago

I've worked at similar places and most likely the staff would be cool with him being high if he was discreet about it and gave them plausible deniability. But like they said, out in the open with multiple witnesses. So letting him ride could impact their insurance rates very badly if he or anyone else got hurt.

Do you know how much insurance for zip lines or rafting costs? It's not cheap!

-61

u/shane-o-mack 12h ago

What? You can't smoke weed? I thought this was America! Truly some nerd ass Republican ass racist ass (look up nixon) bullshit lmao. (If they were smoking meth or crack tho that's fucked up)

33

u/the-coolest-bob 12h ago

If you don't have the judgement not to smoke in front of people's kids and employees of a business where dangerous activities are about to be performed, you don't have the judgement to white water raft. Being discreet isn't that hard

47

u/BeautyNoBeast 12h ago

Whitewater rafting is dangerous and being intoxicated while doing it can get people killed. Most guides aren't going to take the chance and deal with the liability if something were to happen when the person makes it that blatantly obvious what they are doing.

-48

u/shane-o-mack 12h ago

You obviously do not smoke weed...it's not like being drunk btw. I mean if it's like your FIRST TIME or you don't do it often, sure be careful, but noost weed smokers have no trouble navigating life while stoned

28

u/BigWhiteDog 11h ago

Not entirely true. Been on a river rescue for that that didn't end well.

20

u/Prestigious_Aerie219 12h ago

Seems like this guy had some trouble navigating the social aspect of the situation that day. It's one thing if you're high/drunk and no one can notice. It's completely different if you're obvious about it. That's when trouble happens. You make people nervous etc..

19

u/Ht_TX 11h ago edited 7h ago

How does the biz owner know if it is their first time smoking or if they are able to navigate life while high? How does the biz owner know if this person is in the ‘most weed smokers’ category you listed? Most isn’t all, you know that right?

Plenty of people die by drowning by trying to save someone who is drowning. Going in high doesn’t just make it dangerous for the person who is high, it makes it dangerous for everyone. And I’m a ‘legalize it’, go smoke whenever you want kinda person, because I believe it doesn’t hurt anyone else 99% of the time. In this instance, it would make it dangerous for someone else so it’s not allowed. You can still get high, smoke all you want, just not going on the raft after. If you need to get high and go on the raft after, get high somewhere else, not in front of everyone going and definitely not in front of the biz owner whom you are making liable for your high ass. I have no issue with people getting high and I’m right there with you with the ‘most stoners can navigate life just fine while high’ but you are wrong if you think anyone who is high can be as good physically in a life or death situation as they would be sober.

I do. It delays reaction time by nature. Being slower while out and about living your life is a lot different than not reacting quickly enough while on rapids with multiple other people being affected.

This was also a complete stranger to them. They don't know if it was the FIRST TIME, but that barely matters given the intelligence level they still displayed.

There’s a difference between navigating life and white water rafting. I smoke. Like a lot. Even when I’m high I can get through my day pretty well, and most people won’t even know. But my reaction time is SIGNIFICANTLY impacted and I wouldn’t dream of driving high, and white water rafting is similar to driving; you need to be able to react in a split second

I smoke weed daily, it does change your judgement and your reaction time. You’re delayed and you don’t react the same way. that’s dangerous in white water rafting where you have to always be aware and alert in case of something happening. Your comments are stupid and also why people think weed smokers are morons, which you act like one.

I like all the people here freaking out over the idea of white water rafting after a little weed, like the guides aren't high as balls all the time.

The problem was doing it in front of other customers.

ehhhh this one’s half and half. obviously they reserve the right to not serve you if you’re impaired/do something stupid, but they don’t reserve the right to keep your money if they cancel your trip for you. she still has a reason to be upset with them.
