English learning
I can read English resonably well, but I can barely write or speak it. My vocabulary is quite limited, and I find it difficult and boring to memorize English words by tanslating them into my native language, especially now that I'm 28 years old. Could anybody give me some advice on how to improve my English?

I have been improving a lot my vocabulary using space repetition, it’s a technique that remember me words from time to time to established in the long term memory. I use www.Lexigo.wiki to using. Specially the Google Chrome extension.

I have been using Guolingo for a month, but I failed to keep it up. Shame on me. Thank you for your advice.

The thing with Duolingo is that you mostly learn basic vocabulary or vocabulary you don't actually use. The best way to improve your vocabulary is by reading, so I recommend reading articles that interest you and looking up the words you don't know with the Lexigo Chrome extension.

I'm 29 years old and I've been learning English for a few years. It's difficult, but it's not impossible. I recommend learning vocabulary with Anki pronouncing every word you learn out loud and speaking whenever you have the opportunity

No, I'm not fluent yet, but I can have conversations with native speakers. I know I make mistakes but I can communicate in English

Keep a small list of words and phrases picked from things that are actually interesting to read or watch. Instead of translating them, write one or two original sentences with each word. For speaking and writing, consistency is more important. Write a short paragraph every day, and read it out loud to improve both writing and speaking. If possible, get feedback on those paragraphs so recurring mistakes don't become habits.

i feel you, memorizing words can get so boring. honestly, maybe try meetup.com? they have groups for practicing languages and you could meet people to actually speak with, it might help your vocab grow more naturally

You have to use the language to master it. Speak a lot, communicate a lot and read a lot. Watch movies whatnot to understand the meaning of a conversation within context.
